In the last days of the 12 day war in 2025 we saw Iran hitting cities for from Tel Aviv or Haifa with large warheads and no interceptions. Now they have hit Dimona (10km) and Arad (30km) in a single day from the Negev nuclear reactor.

@witte_sergei The Negev nuclear research area is 10km away (south east) from the city of Dimona.

Iran has pushed multiple salvos on the Negev nuclear installation in Dimona. Getting frisky with target selection as they get back to ~40 missile launches per day.

Translated. Given the practical experience at 1000km range (CEP in kms) an Iranian IRBM will at most kill fishes and hardly hit any part of the island. Or Iran has been not using precise guiding technology due to some "fatwa" (not) but will start now.
Dr. Jeffrey Lewis@ArmsControlWonk

At 4,000+ km, I would happily sit in a lawn chair on the tarmac at Diego Garcia with a bottle of wine while Iran fired two conventionally-armed IRBMs at me. My only hesitation would be the quality of the wine.

@przidnt1 Because they get closer to the camera and you can't really notice the real distance it's traversing when it's (very) high in the air. It's just an illusion. The war head has no propulsion. It's also too late for maneuvers.

Can anyone tell me why some of the Iranian missiles seem to accelerate right before they impact? It's like gliding gliding gliding, then speed up right before impact.

@ripplebrain Targeting yes. Doing any damage? The US tankers are flying from Ben Gurion every day through the whole day since day one. At least if you believe plane tracking sites based on ADS-B signals like Flight Radar 24 and ADS-B Exchange.

I don't know where people get this from. Both Hezbollah and Iran have been targeting Ben Gurion regularly since the conflict began
Yakno220@yakno220

@AryJeay it’s very strange to see Iran is not consistently targeting these offshore platforms, or Tel Aviv airport, where dozens of planes depart and land every day, in addition to another dozen of large US military planes

@CarlZha It's the only realistic way the US has for a ground operation in the Strait of Hormuz. It's also why they want the Sauds to openly join the war and force the activation of the Saudi-Pakistan defence treaty. It will still be very risky.

@agitpapa So the war won't stop just because these groups are eating shit daily. The war proceeds because the group that started it is still benefitting from the war.

@agitpapa They would need Republican votes before the mid terms. But the democrat leadership is fully committed to the war. The war isn't fought for the benefit of Trump, MAGA, repugs, tech oligarchs or the AI bubble.

US KC-35 tanker flying patterns near Riyadh. Probably providing support for fighters on anti-drone role. The tankers supporting attacks are now safely operating inside the Gulf.

Many people in this site think that wars are won posting bullshit on this site. I think that's unlikely to match reality.

@DD_Geopolitics Narrator: It worked in Iraq. It worked in Libya. It worked in Syria. It's working in Lebanon and Iran. (They don't mind if after the bombing the countries become a broken mess controlled by armed gangs. Actually they prefer it that way.)

"The Israelis are addicted to war." John Mearsheimer on Breaking Points — on why Israel keeps fighting: "They believe in a very profound way in big stick diplomacy. They believe that they can pound countries into submission. This is a foolish way of thinking. But it is the way they think."

The two most trustworthy people on Earth promised that there would be no more attacks on Iran gas. (Next round of escalation in a week or two when the Genocidal Entity finishes the evaluation of the results and Iran leadership reaction or no reaction)

Now a total of 5000 US marines being deployed with a second MEU from the West Coast. Too small for any real ground operation by themselves. A whole month Iran needs to support the world economy from crashing and oil prices at a manageable price while being systemically bombed.

@snekotron The only resource that the ziogulfies can provide are boots on the ground... Pakistani and Turkey boots. Egyptian perhaps (mostly worthless though so I don't know why the US would bother).

@snekotron The extra combat planes aren't required, their pilots are worse and they have limited amounts of standoff munitions. They will provide all of it if the US actually required it. Qatar, Bahrein and UAE bases were too close to be used safely.
