@karunchandhok Don't worry Karun, everybody with eyes knows what a phenomenal performance George put in, regardless of the disqualification, apart from a certain fanbase who are salty that he completely outclassed their favourite driver on much older tyres

Morning! 2 points : (a) no doubt the car was illegal & right to be excluded (as I said, slam dunk) (b) Merc told me yesterday that the issue seems to be from wear & tear from extending the 2nd stint. Cars were identical at the start. Even if you say .03 x 16 laps extra GR did = less than half a second so no real performance advantage because LH caught him anyway but couldn’t pass. George executed his strategy superbly, shame for him but that’s life. Ok now I’m really going on holiday! 👋🏽👋🏽

Such a shame for @GeorgeRussell63 - he made that strategy work for him & deserved that win. The last 10 laps were sublime - smooth, fast, error free 👌🏽 To be fair, the car would never have been below the 798kg weight limit during the race as they had fuel on board so no performance advantage for him. However, clear error by the team as 798 is the minimum “dry weight” without fuel so was a slam dunk DQ once the FIA drained the car out.

@404ally @RobLMyers Feels like there would have been a lot more debate on the radio? Very strange call to come in first in the first stint and then go really long - guess he had nothing to lose at that point and once he started getting undercut threw the dice
