@metrolosangeles Will people going to World Cup games need TAP cards, or can they just ride free like locals?

@metrolosangeles "Your fares support public transit." As if this were a voluntary donation you can choose to make to a charitable organization. Get a clue, folks. This is a business. They provide a service, and if you want it you pay - the same as any other business. It's not difficult.

🟣 Heads up, D Line riders: Wilshire/La Cienega Station is now part of TAP-to-Exit ❗ Riders must TAP when entering & exiting 🎟️ You won’t be charged twice-tapping confirms payment 😀 Why? Better safety, less loitering & fewer incidents 🚇 Your fares support public transit

@InsideAngelino Other countries have built entire world-class airports in less time than it is taking LAX to build a "People Mover." Hell, Walt Disney World had a people mover more than 50 years ago. LAX is stuck in the past - but spending like it's the future.

@JamesPhan44808 @InsideAngelino @sspaciee_ This is correct. But they CAN - and SHOULD - remove any passenger who is not in possession of valid proof of fare payment from the system, whether homeless or not.

@InsideAngelino @sspaciee_ LAPD or Metro security cannot legally stop someone from riding a bus or Metro train just because they are homeless.

@hearinladotcom @metrolosangeles Sure - Metro should absolutely be free. As should a home in Bel Air. And a garage filled with Ferraris. And a beach house in Malibu. Everyone should have all of this for free - no contribution to society required. Dream on.

@metrolosangeles This is a joke. At most stations, the gates are unlocked anyway, and do not require a TAP card to enter or exit. Plus, it is easy to piggy back on a fare-paying passenger and just walk right in. Finally, there is no fare enforcement anywhere on the system. Recipe for disaster

@adgirlMM Surely there are more people on Twitter who are more qualified. Unfortunately, none of them are running.

Los Angeles has an operating budget of $14 billion. It has a housing affordability crisis. A homelessness epidemic. Traffic and aging infrastructure. Crime and gang violence. Drought and wildfire risk. Spencer Pratt grew up as a "wealthy brat" on reality TV. He shouldn't even be in the running. He has no relevant experience for such an important job. There are people on Twitter who are more qualified to be the mayor of Los Angeles.

@hasanthehun LA is on the right track? More like LA is off the rails. This whole ad can be summed up as "Pratt is registered as a Republican, so that means he is a big doody head." Lame.

Of the many many many reason Spencer Pratt, who isn’t qualified to manage a Starbucks, won’t become Mayor of LA, is he foolishly places all the blame of the Palisades Fire on Karen Bass. She hasn’t been a good mayor, but even the LAFD admits they didn’t properly extinguish the fire on the 1st that turned into the devastation on the 7th. abc7.com/amp/post/la-fi… "I saw something, I said something and to my best ability, I felt like we could have done more," Scott Pike, a 23-year veteran of the LAFD said about not fully putting out the fire. Until Mr Pratt is ready to point fingers at the right people, get ready for Mayor Raman in a landslide.

@JamesTheTweeter @therealsjloren Sure - technically they pay lip service to charging a fare. But with gates that aren't locked and a system virtually devoid of fare enforcement, why anyone would pay (at least until Metro comes to its senses) is beyond me.

Mamdani has declared a Muslim Heritage Month, complete with green lighting on city landmarks. That now includes the Freedom Tower—one of the most powerful symbols honoring the lives lost on 9/11. Hard to see that as anything other than a slap in the face. Pray for New York. 🙏🏻

@umichvoter LA Metro not connecting to the airport has nothing to do with the absence of a "People Mover." The plan should always have been to have the train itself stop right on airport property. But the politicians cared more about lining their pockets than with serving the people.

@TeamNithya Just as with everything else, you are WRONG on this. What LA doesn't want is a leader who is committed to making the city worse, while lining their pockets with corrupt money like you. You are way out of your league, and should be disgusted with yourself.

The NYPD is using “Barnacles” to tackle illegal parking. These are commercial-grade suction devices that attach to vehicle windows with around 1,000 pounds of force, making them extremely difficult to remove without proper release.

Spencer Pratt only started caring 'bout shit when his home burned down. This isn't the mark of a true civil servant who wants to help the people.
