I'm honestly SHOCKED at how the general public has NO IDEA Artemis II is taking humans out to the moon and will be the furthest humans have ever flown. Every non-space nerd I've talked to has no idea. WE GOTTA GET PEOPLE STOKED!!!! THESE FOUR HUMANS ARE FLYING TO THE MOON!!!

@shdw_wolf7 @inforiist @Erdayastronaut I know. You can't debate with stupid people, nor those who have allowed themselves to be brainwashed by conspiracy theorists. Unfortunately I feel sorry for them. It's a fault of the education system that they lack the basic critical thinking skills to protect themselves.

🛑 ALL VIDEO FOOTAGE OF MOONLANDINGS BETWEEN 1969- 1972 WERE PRODUCED BY NASA & ClA, DIRECTED BY STANLEY KUBRICK & SHOT BY CAMERAMAN GENE GILMORE, aka CYRUS EUGENE RUBIN AKERS. 🛑 THIS IS ALL PUBLICLY SEARCHABLE ON SURFACE INTERNET. #StanleyKubrick deathbed confession, 1999. Released December, 2015. #GeneGilmore deathbed confession, 2020. Released 2022. these are both considered official documents by both estates. so all trolls get to fuck off!🖕🏼 Kubrick admits that he & #NeilArmstrong [+ others] were responsible for faking the #NASA’s #MoonProgram - including shooting the footage from all moon landings. Gilmore gives ALOT MORE SAUCE & GRAVY in his confession. when this first came out, I was called a conspiracy theorist. in fact my in-law family disowned me because my brother-in-law was born on that very day in 1969. I shattered their fishbowl. well, they found out - on their own, and we are as happy together as ever. if this helps you to shatter someone’s fishbowl that you love - just know that if you stand your ground and act in love - they will come back to you. “All Truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, Then it is violently opposed, Finally it is accepted as self-evident.” - Arthur Schopenhauer @CommunityNotes

@Erdayastronaut People tend to not understand the huge massive complex engineering that goes into something like this. Those of us that understand even a small part are in awe at what if about to happen. But people don't understand or appreciate the engineering in their phone either, I guess.

@MOneill225 @Erdayastronaut It's a huge step towards getting feet back on the Moon. And getting a base there. Honestly, it's mine boggling just how difficult and complex it is to do this flyby mission. Landing on the Moon is much more complex, and dangerous. So, (somewhat large) baby steps.

@Erdayastronaut I am a huge supporter of space exploration, but we were landing on the moon, regularly, over 50 years ago. This flyby is not as amazing as you are trying to make it out to be. Get feet back on the moon and people will notice. Relax.

@Erik96754 @Erdayastronaut All the money spent on these programmes goes back into the American economy. The members of Congress who put together the SLS laws all ensured that many industries in their States are used for the R&D work, thus ensuring many jobs. Do you want all of those people homeless too?

I would love to see these scheduled launches in person. I am planning to make the 8 hour road trip with my family to make it happen. I think this should be on the field trip plans for all schools. It is a must! We need to promote wonder and creativity into the young minds of children again.

Initial Super Heavy V3 and Starbase Pad 2 activation campaign complete, wrapping up several days of testing that loaded cryogenic fuel and oxidizer on a V3 vehicle for the first time. While the 10-engine static fire ended early due to a ground-side issue, we saw successful startup on all installed Raptor 3 engines. Next up: preparing the booster for a 33-engine static fire

@Biigmaaccee @SpaceX SLS had a ground side issue there a couple of weeks ago. Two of them, in fact, and one on the rocket. They had to roll this whole thing back. And that was on a LAUNCH campaign, not a first full test of a whole newly built system. Sheesh.

@SpaceX "Successful" but the test ended early due to a "ground side issue"? 🤔 Sounds like spin for another explosion waiting to happen. SpaceX fans celebrate failure like its a win. 🙄

@SpaceX People in the replies calling this a failure because of the early cutoff are missing the point. First cryo load on V3, first activation of Pad 2, all engines ignited successfully. SpaceX tests to learn, not to perform. The 33-engine fire is coming.

@Erdayastronaut Shorter arms == less mass => faster and more accurate movements. Less mass == less inertia => faster braking, thus the improvements in accuracy. But, yeah, it looks like the arms are barely holding the booster, like a teacup precariously balanced on the edge of a table.

Look at how close to the edges of the chopsticks the new booster is on Pad 2! I guess they sure have confidence in their landing accuracy! That's wild!

@mzarkowsky @Erdayastronaut It was created by Congress, not NASA. NASA's hands were tied. These projects are designed to create employment in various States. Congress didn't care all that much about space or the moon, they just wanted jobs. That's why it's so awfully designed and managed. Not NASA's fault.

I wonder if the way to speed up production of SLS, cancel EUS AND keep contractors (Boeing) happy to avoid a lawsuit is to simply order up more SLS rockets at a premium for cadence to offset the contract loss.

The @FAANews statement on newly allowed Starship-Super Heavy operations: “The FAA has completed the environmental review process for the SpaceX proposal regarding updates to airspace closures for additional launch trajectories and Starship landings at the Boca Chica Launch Site in Texas. The FAA continues to evaluate SpaceX’s license modification request for the next Starship launch. SpaceX must satisfy all safety and other licensing requirements before the FAA makes a final licensing determination.” Documents: faa.gov/space/stakehol…

@SpaceflightNow @FAANews Holy crap... I don't think any rocket should be overflying that much populated area until it's flown a few hundred times without a RUD on ascent. I would not trust Starship for a while. All it takes is one Flight 6 or 7 incident to have heavy debris falling over populated areas.

@Jimbob37118131 @JonesDanny The interesting thing here is that this guy knows that the Van Allen belts exist, which require the Earth to be a globe. They can't exist on a flat disc-shaped object. 👍🏼

@JonesDanny Van Allen belts, that sit between Earth and the moon,Humans have to go through lethal radiation belts to get to the moon, which Humans have yet to achieve. Because you still haven't created shielding that allows you through the radiation without dying.

The REAL reason we haven't been back to the moon: It has nothing to do with technological capabilities. Tim Dodd, AKA Everyday Astronaut, explains the one and only thing that's stopped us from returning to the moon. And it won't be stopping us much longer.

@theaarondouglas One of those temperatures where °C or °F doesn't matter, it's just frakkin' cold! If we got that temperature here in Ireland we'd probably all be dead! I've only experienced -6°C here and it was awful!

@ajayidavid11 @themichaelkonen @Erdayastronaut The refueling is needed for the sheer amount of mass Starship would be carrying. Orion's mass is pittance compared to that. You are comparing an apple to an orchard. Starship won't carry Orion anyway. They are aimed at very different missions profiles.

@themichaelkonen @Erdayastronaut That’s not gonna happen. Starship hasn’t even made it to orbit, not to talk about the moon, where you need 10 or so refueling flights to make it to the moon. Very unreasonable.

It occurred to me, since Artemis II only does an apogee raise maneuver w/ the ICPS up to 70,000 km & then finishes off the TLI w/ the Orion ESM, the crew will fly through the Van Allen Belts twice as much as Apollo missions. Wonder what conspiracy theorists will think of this.

Launch windows for Artemis II. Sadly only one daylight and one dusk option. All others are full on night. For visual and impact reasons, I wish it was a daylight launch 😪
