Working for ESPN for almost 9 years; Interviews with LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Nick Saban but nothing was like doing this for family.

@TheReal_GR3 @CT_In_TC That was a joke. Lendeborg had some legendary performances in Chicago, but I think there's already a 23 in those rafters. FTR Michigan MBB has one retired number (33) and five "Honored" jerseys in the rafters for Buntin, Hubbard, Rice, Tomjanovich, and Burke.

@Misopogon @CT_In_TC Hmm I’d find this an interesting discussion. I don’t think I’m big on retiring numbers but I definitely love honoring them. I don’t think Michigan does that but I am a big fan of ring of honors or hanging numbers to honor/recognize players and coaches.

Thank you @sam_jane230 for including me. As I told Sam, the AD job has 3 components: 1. Win. 2. Don't embarrass us. 3. Raise money. Every AD has strengths, but a weakness can't be a catastrophic failure. Warde is fine on 1 and 3. The investigation is to answer #2.

Warde Manuel’s experienced “unprecedented” levels of on-field success. But as Michigan’s investigation into his culture nears an end, his future in Ann Arbor is murky. For @MLiveSports mlive.com/wolverines/202…

Wrote about @CoachKeem when he was an assistant coach at Hampton University doing a little bit of everything, including laundry. Tonight, he won a national championship as part of Dusty May's Michigan staff. So cool. usatoday.com/story/sports/n…

basketball hall doesn’t harshly penalize guys for injury (remember with derrick rose). but guys, amar’e was a BEAST. had a GREAT season before and after microfracture. 72.9 from basketball-reference’s hof probability metric. i get disagreeing, but this isn’t egregious.
WAD 🍷@LouStandUP1

Can someone explain to me, like I’m a small child, why Amar’e Stoudemire is getting into the Basketball Hall of Fame? Keep your emotions out of it, I need facts.

Great points by @JayBilas. UNC is "tampering" with coaches under contract. The NCAA isn't busy creating policies to limit that conduct. But it's not OK for players under contract to communicate with third parties because they may benefit? Schools complain about finances, but are on the hook to pay fired coaches tens of millions of dollars. No one is begging Congress to cap coach compensation. But compensation to athletes must be capped? College sports "leaders" need to continue to be called out. For the "SAVE COLLEGE SPORTS" crowd, let's start talking about how much money those "leaders" are earning. Maybe their salaries should be capped, as well?
Mit Winter@WinterSportsLaw

As @JayBilas correctly points out, there’s a lot of hypocrisy in college athletics right now. It’s only when athletes begin to get paid that it’s necessary to have a federal law to “save college sports.”
