Linthwaite Football Club were absolutely devastated this morning after finding their new goals damaged by vandals! ‘This season, our club invested £6,234 into three pairs of brand-new goals so that we could continue giving our players and coaches the safest and best possible environment to enjoy football. 🥅 Sadly, between 12:00pm on Sunday and 8:00am this morning, one of our pairs of 9v9 goals was deliberately vandalised. 🤬😤🤯 These goals cost our club £1,197, and because of the incredibly wet weather this season, they have only been used once. They are now completely unusable.😢😭 We are absolutely devastated. As a grassroots club, every penny matters, and this was a significant investment made purely for the benefit of our children, players, and coaches. To see equipment damaged so senselessly after just one use is truly heartbreaking.🥺 This act of vandalism has not only caused financial damage, but it will now also have a huge impact on our busy home fixture schedule and affect a large number of our junior players, who simply want the chance to play and enjoy their football in a safe and positive setting. 🤯😖 We work tirelessly as volunteers to provide a professional, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in our club. We have done everything we can to keep subscriptions as low as possible for families, while still reinvesting into facilities, equipment, and opportunities for our players and coaches. In fact, the club has made a small loss over the last three seasons in order to do just that. 🖤🤍🖤 So this morning, we are not just disappointed — we are heartbroken. @TheRefereeForum @The_Forty_Four Even when I was in the line in North west counties refs were asking Senior AR to make a note of bookings which is fine as a secondary point. It’s gonna be easier if you’d have comms for sure
