We are having a non-uniform day on Friday 22nd May to raise money for Breakthrough T1D who support those with childhood diabetes. This is a charity close to our hearts with both children and staff in school having been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Year 3 have had a busy couple of days making and baking! Yesterday, Cherry class made abstract 3D sculptures. They investigated positive and negative spaces before deciding on their own 3D shapes and constructing them.

In this half term’s Friday Together Time the children are learning about inventors as they work towards creating something of their own. Each half term they enjoy a book to hook them in and are really getting inspired by this one!

Happy Mental Health Awareness Week! 🎉🧠💙 May 11th - 17th 2026. This year the theme coordinated by @mentalhealth is ‘Take Action’ to support good mental health. So of course we are very excited because that’s what we are all about at Action for Happiness. Mental Health Foundation are encouraging everbody to take action; for ourselves, for others and for all of us. Take action for yourself, choose a healthy meal, spend time in nature or find ways to be more present. Take action for others, choose to be kind to strangers, let loved ones know they are appreciated and make space for quality time with friends. Take action all of us by acting collectively, take care of the environment, donate time or money to a meaningful cause or volunteer in your local community. Year 4 are loving their Forest School sessions. In their latest session they replanted into bigger pots the Oak trees that Y3 had originally planted a few weeks ago because they had grown so much. They also made dens and had fun on the ninja ropes.

The Little Owls have been exploring different ways of using paint this week. We have been printing with bubble wrap, using straws to blow paint and cotton buds to create dots. @TheRoseLearning
