@Dexerto Situations like this usually come down to proximity and unpredictability. For anyone curious how often African big game encounters turn deadly on hunters, the book Death in the Long Grass by Peter Hathaway Capstick gives a good perspective.

Want more deer, ducks, and healthy game populations? Start with habitat. Better water. Better cover. Better forage. Across the country, restoration projects are quietly rebuilding the ground wildlife depends on. Big bucks and full skies start long before season opens. #Hunting #Conservation #Habitat #Wildlife #KeepItWild

People want simple answers on land and wildlife issues. The systems governing them don’t reward simplicity for very long. #Conservation

Most people don’t realize how conservation is funded in the U.S. It’s funded largely by hunters and anglers purchasing licenses, tags, and excise taxes tied to participation. That model worked when the user base was stable. Now more people are using the resources and fewer are funding it directly. That gap doesn’t stay theoretical. #Conservation #PublicLands #WildlifePolicy

The wildest thing about corner crossing is that it's still controversial. Millions of acres of public land are functionally private because of the checkerboard. Tell me that's not worth fighting.

At the risk of losing my credibility as a Southerner, I must make a confession- I think boiled peanuts are gross. Don’t judge me.

A decline in ancient megafauna in the Middle East coincided with a shift towards smaller, lighter toolkits in the archaeological record – though scientists are still in debate about why #Echobox=1777088990" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">newscientist.com/article/252242…
