@ZkMushroom Its for the best. Whether we like admitting it or not D2 had so many downs and instead of beating a paper bag to nothing it's better to give people something positive and let Bungie rebuild their idea of what Destiny is.

I will never understand this decision.. heartbreaking news, an amazing game with a dedicated community and no competition just going down the drain. It could of been so much more and so much bigger. I will definitely cherish my destiny moment and I am happy about it.

While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to. We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us. From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.

@Gladd Its sad to see that it came at such a bad point in d2's life cycle, but it felt more of an inevitable. That said definitely excited to play again and hopefully in years to come we'll here some more news about the future of Destiny.

Even though this should have happened after The Final Shape, Destiny 2 is officially done.
This will surely be a tough pill to swallow for many. The reality is: it was inevitable. Nothing great lasts forever.
Just remember all the good that D2 brought you. Celebrate that.

@SurvivalGN The game is fine. Unlike liver service game Unknown Worlds just needed the support to fund future development. We'll keep seeing updates until full release and i guarantee player numbers will jump when that happens.

What happened to Subnautica 2?
The game peaked at almost 500k players on launch day and lost 70% of its player base within a week.

@PaulTassi Digital Extremes has worked hard for what they have and always focused on community first. They always knew that only the community could make their game successful and leaned into that even with the founders packs.

@LUCKYY10P If Bungie could salvage d2 I probably wouldn't mind but that would take years of not failing to follow road maps and some how fixing the mess of the portal and tier loot. I don't really care about losing cosmetics and eververse items when I'm already done with d2 as is.

@DarthMicroT Dang, I was already guessing at about a 12 hour play time. Definitely enjoying it though and it makes me excited for the full release.

Completed Subnautica 2 , games really fun. Much more of a vibe of Subnautica 1 , and not really like Below Zero (thank god). Took about 12 hours to finish the game, and a pretty solid Early access start. Recommend

@falloutplays If you like survival and exploration I would say give it a try. Not sure how much is available in the early access but as someone who played 1 and below zero you can feel the improvements.
