I'll fucking bite. A thread about making female characters in games. This idiot/grifter/probably-feigning-outrage-doughboy really doesn't seem to get it, even apparently *as* a developer. TLDR: making the nuances of a gentler face can be a real tough one in game art.

@litzabronwyn In @peregrinekiwi's The Sprawl, each of the players (including GM) design one of the main antagonist factions he party will foil against. This is done during group character creation so everyone is much more invested in their unique game than when the GM does that work alone.

@ttrpgay I love the Powered by the Apocalypse system, specifically in @TheSprawl_RPG but in several other iterations; simple to teach, centers the story in the mechanics and fast paced without feeling simplistic

I've been thinking about the settings recently, including those in The November Metric, Necropolis, and the third party stuff by @whodo_voodoo and @KhelrenAbsinthe. I think I smell a game coming...

Jesse has released a PoD version of his cybergothic setting for The Sprawl: Necropolis. It's Dark City meets Bram Stoker meets Johnny Mnemonic and it's excellent.

Thinking of this term’s course in my life so far, from first hearing it at an Armadillocon in the mid-80 til now.
