If I hear “____ clear to cross runway” followed within seconds by “stop stop stop” I’m locking those mf brakes

No offense but the ATC guy realised his mistake with plenty of time and screamed at the truck driver to stop and hold, they continued on despite 3 call outs to stop.
Human error was involved but not really the ATC, more so the driver.

Unpopular opinion: Today two pilots lost their lives because we have an air traffic control system inherently vulnerable to human error. Even great humans make mistakes sometimes. Machines should be issuing clearances, not human controllers.

Phoenix is not a hub. ATL sees 2700 arrivals and departures. Phoenix sees 1100 (on avg for both). More than twice the flights

PHX is the 5th largest city in America, ATL is all the way down at 36, placing it between Tucson and Mesa (suburbs of PHX), so PHX metro is much larger than Atlanta but I get your point that ATL is a more common connection hub for flight traffic. However that doesn’t affect TSA as much since connections don’t go back through security. Phoenix has a far superior airport layout for moving millions of people through quickly.
