About time, members of the National Press Club of Australia began speaking up in defence of Palestinian and Lebanese colleagues being slaughtered by Israel on an industrial scale, would've thought @PressClubAust

The Geneva Convention says it’s a war crime to target journalists, even if they work for an enemy organisation. It’s also a war crime to target medical workers. After the killing of 3 Lebanese TV journos last week, several medics coming to help them were killed as well.

Israeli soldiers gang-raped a Palestinian so brutally he's hospitalised. And filmed it. A woman who leaked the video is arrested. When the rapists were arrested, Israelis protested that they had the right to rape Palestinians! The rape charges have now been dropped. #Israel

@WallWall39796 @KateEmersonBri No, the original tree is supporting an ecosystem including the micro world. That can't be replaced.
English

@KateEmersonBri Not sure if you know this, but there are people who make a living out of growing Jarrah seedlings.
If you put a seedling in the ground, you have replanted one.
If you plant one every time you cut one down, then you’re refreshing a replaceable commodity, and have an industry.

Don't know if you know this is the only Jarrah forest in the world, and when it is gone, it is gone. It cannot be replanted and here is Labor and Watt effectively giving it to the Americans.
We are not even taxing these guys, just giving everything away.

@KateEmersonBri And the clearing of endangered Gouldian finch habitat at Lee Point, Darwin for Defence Housing approved in 2023 is going to house 100s of US dept of war personnel

English

@FetchStep @KateEmersonBri Guess what @MurrayWatt people who once worked for asbestos mines no longer have those jobs. You move on to other work.. the priority is our magnificent irreplaceable priceless Jarrah forest, and the creatures that rely on it.

@KateEmersonBri The New EPBC act allows the Minister for #Woodside Murray Watt to excuse every environment crime in Australia .
Murray said ..
"You know, of course, any minister has the choice to say to Alcoa, sorry, you're ending your operations now. But that would put 6,000 people out of work"

“The Australian Govt’s decision to allow the US mining giant Alcoa to continue clearing swathes of WA jarrah forest despite past illegal clearing practices was made in part due to a critical minerals deal reached between Australia and the Trump administration last year…” 👇👇👇

US military needs are Australia’s priority.
“Government prioritised corporate interests & foreign defence interests above the jarrah forests, the endangered species that rely on forests & Perth’s drinking water—showing how wrong their priorities are.” theguardian.com/australia-news…

@dcopechatter Anti-ICE activists? Don't you mean murdered US citizens? Shot to death in the street by government employees? If you can't see how horrific and terrifying and ungodly that is, why would you set yourself up to be preaching away about anything?
English

@dcopechatter @mirandadevine In your quest to imply he somehow deserved to be killed, you forgot to post that his devastated parents never said he was weird, they said he was a kind hearted soul who cared deeply about his family and friends.

The parents of Alex Pretti say their son quit his hospital job months ago and had shown “unusual behavior” recently. “He seemed to have joined some kind of group. We warned him two weeks ago — protest if you want, but don’t engage, don’t do anything stupid,” his father, Michael Pretti, told reporters. “He said he understood.” But it wasn’t until police pulled messages from Alex’s phone that the truth began to emerge — and what investigators found.
It seems that Pretti's parents didn't want him participating. It seems Pretti allegedly scrubbed his social media presence one day prior to his actions leading to his death. When you make decisions based on emotions, you make poor decisions. He made bad decisions.
I’m a 2A absolutist. You have a right to carry, not a privilege.
But rights come with restrictions, you need your ID & permit on you. Reports say Pretti had neither.
He wasn’t carrying legally.

English

@dcopechatter @mirandadevine What has happened to you Miranda? A nurse who healed war veterans, slaughtered while helping a woman on the ground - and no outrage from you, not even sympathy .. just re-tweets trying to help make him look deserving of murder? Are you still a journalist or just a Trump devotee?

@PhillipAdams_1 A great shame. You've been a small island of wisdom in a sea of madness. Thanks for this.
