Nintendo pulled my access in late 2021. No free games, no previews, no events since then. Zero. I haven’t talked about it much because it genuinely hasn’t changed how I cover them. I’m not harsher than before. I’m not softer, either. I just say what I think, same as always.

@NintyPrime The problem is the need for arcade games to be short has been neutralized by not having them at the arcade😅 A space shooter could be 50 hours long if they wanted it to be🤷

Oh, I wanted to note that I thought in that StarFox explanation that it's an arcade game game post I made, I wasn't directing that and those that are critical of the game that do understand what kind of game that is. I said something because I saw hundreds of posts in my feed of people who were really confused on how this was even considered to be a video game at all and not just a tech demo, etc. My explanation also won't make them like the game more. It was just explanation why the game is and has to be structured this way, for it be what it's trying to be. And you either like what that means, or you don't.

Everyone is jumping him saying “ITS REPLAYABLE ITS REPLAYABLE” but as a 2nd remake, most of us played these same exact levels already 0ver 50 times before. It’s fun a couple of times but gets stale pretty quick as a veteran.

Star Fox is fun. Looks quite awesome on Switch 2! Also it’s absolutely lacking in content. Remake or not, is this what $50 gets ya in 2026? I feel like if Sony or Microsoft released this, they’d be getting destroyed on the cost/value proposition🤷

@PlayerEssence Fair point on studio size, but that’s Nintendo’s production challenge to solve, not a discount on what $50 is supposed to buy. The value bar doesn’t move just because the studio’s smaller. We can take a smaller Sony studio, like Housemarque. Same argument applies🤷

Wait, I just noticed something. Why are you comparing Star Fox, a lower selling IP from Nintendo that was made by a smaller outside studio to Sony Santa Monica... who makes massive 10 million seller God of War games? Like, what's the similarities here? If Star Fox was made by the Zelda or Mario team I would understand, but it's not 😆

Just prepare for this now: no matter what they do with Ocarina of Time on Switch 2, seemingly half the Zelda online fanbase is going to complain about it. Really it will likely be a very loud and vocal minority, but it’s going to seem like “everyone hates this game”. It happens with every Zelda release of the 3D variety. The fan base is vast and cannot be universally pleased. Also remember another person’s thoughts don’t have to influence your own. If you enjoy something and someone else doesn’t, you don’t have the apologize or feel bad about that. Same the other direction.

My idea was always that a direct in the first half of September was where Nintendo would feel a little more pressure to justify a more expensive console
