Let's be clear. There's a lot of issues with this HBO Harry Potter series. Extra unnecessary added details, pointless raceswaps of minor characters that I, like many other Potterheads, could have overlooked. But Black Snape is such an insulting slap in the face it's a 100% deal breaker.

HBO has cast a Latina-origin girl as Hermione Granger in a new Harry Potter series. All in the name of diversity. While this isn’t as heinous as Netflix casting a black bloke to play a historically white Nordic king, this isn’t still at heart a white English character. Could HBO not find a white girl good enough to play the part? I’d find that hard to believe…
