@lordsoftheseth It’s funny how the same people who say TFA was safe fan service are the same ones who complain that Han and Luke didn’t meet up and do epic fight scenes together

@AMCHelps I have a ticket for Asteroid City tonight at 8pm at AMC Burbank 16, but it isn't showing up in my app at all. Is the ticket code I received in my email still good or not?

For science… what is your favorite Clone Wars episode? And you can’t say any of the Siege of Mandalore ones.

@starwarsfonts @suspiciouscffee Couldn’t tell you the exact font but they seemed to be the usual more or less (except the Solo ones were yellow). Good luck “not” looking into them

are there any alien subtitles in TLJ and TROS? could TFA actually be the last bastion of TRADE GOTHIC BOLD in the films?

@starwarsfonts @suspiciouscffee Nein Nunb has a very brief subtitle during the resistance planning scene before Exegol. By the way Solo has the same issue where the alien subtitle is just the default font (on 4K disc at least). Terrible

@tvaziri What kind of revisions are involved in this process? I can’t imagine these are major changes being done

Then, sometimes, after THAT you sometimes are asked to further work on those shots for the home video version.

On features it sometimes goes like this: you deliver the shots for the international version (since that version needs more lead time to distribute), now you’ve got three more days to deliver updated shots for the domestic version.
Steven Weintraub@colliderfrosty

FYI the #dufferbrothers told me they finished a bunch of VFX shots on #StrangerThings4 episode 9 this morning and uploaded them to the @netflix server so if you watch the episode at 2am tonight you might not see the final shots. Better to sleep and wake up and then watch.

@starwarsfonts Something went wrong with the TROS crawl for sure. The film sits on an empty starfield for way longer than any other movie

adding the rise of skywalker crawl into the mix is hilarious because not only does it have 3 fewer lines than TFA, its line spacing is even smaller the TLJ and it appears 4 lines shorter than both

despite having 1 fewer line, the last jedi crawl (in red) is the exact same vertical size as the force awakens crawl due to higher line spacing between lines and paragraphs

@mattzollerseitz Jackson wanted to remove the artifice of filmic elements and try to put you in the studio with the band (like a time machine). Notably in part 3 when we look at film of the concert framed explicitly as for the doc, the ratio is taller and the grain is back deadline.com/2021/11/peter-…

Has anybody written about the technical aspects of the new Beatles documentary? It looks to me like it’s been digitally scrubbed within an inch of its life, and it bugs me. The cigarette smoke looks CGI. Film has grain. Also, did Jackson crop the original footage from 4 x 3?

@metaplexmovies The thing that always gets me is people know that theatrical exclusive releases don't stay exclusive forever, right? But the other way around doesn't exist

Villeneuve's pro-theatrical comments are catching heat on main today, and of course acknowledging theatrical viewing is a question of class and accessibility is vital, but if we don't let our biggest filmmakers fight for theaters and the theatrical experience, who will?

Denis Villeneuve on #Dune debuting on HBO Max: “The enemy of cinema is the pandemic. I understand that the cinema industry is under tremendous pressure. That I get. The way it happened, I’m still not happy. Frankly, to watch Dune on a TV is like driving a speedboat in a bathtub."
