Just cancelled my 10 year old subscription to @TheAthletic Absolutely shameful to force people to listen to ads in podcasts in a paid subscription service. NYT and American greed can get fucked!

Ads on podcasts have tripled in the last 3 months. Disgusting behavior. I still enjoy the free entertainment though. #firstworldproblems

Podcast ads are out of control! Isn't free content enough? Someone had to say it. #PodcastLife #AdRant

@TheAthletic putting ads on their podcasts for paid subscribers is an absolute disgrace. Part of the appeal to pay for it is for ad free listening. How is this rewarding the most loyal subscribers who pay? What advantage do we get over free to listen platforms? Pathetic

@NoContextHumans I would very much like for this to turn out to be fake rage-bait please.

Ayo listen... do y'all use Microsoft #PowerToys Command Palette?
What sort of Command Palette Extensions would you like to see for it?

What if you sort of thought of it as like a nickname.
Like, the name on my ID is Timothy. But when people ask me my name, I tell him it's Tim because that's the name I prefer that people call me.
Nobody has ever told me that I'm not allowed to determine what other people call me.
If I buy one of those little keychains at tourist traps, I don't look for the one that says Timothy. I get the one that says Tim.
I don't understand why anyone would care.
Okay, there are a few things I do understand why people care- like gender segregated elements of society, like sports or bathrooms. Anything like that, I do get it. I even agree with a chunk of it, to some extent. I just don't understand why people get so fired up about it.
If you're worried about pedophiles hanging out in bathrooms, I feel like that's a much broader concern than whether we consider it socially acceptable to cross genders. Pedophiles can lean straight or gay, but I have to imagine that bathrooms aren't really where they do their... pedophiling.
Women's sports, I sort of get a little bit more. Again, I really don't understand why anyone cares quite as much as they seem to care- to the extent that people get really very upset about it indeed- but I do get it. It feels unfair. There's a reason we separated sports I think by sex. I get it. It's just that.... It's such a teeny tiny little thing in the grand scheme of society that, I just don't understand why (some) people are so upset about it.
I'm genuinely just so very baffled about all of this.

I don't know about y'all, but I get all my financial advice by going on TikTok and searching for the hashtag "#NotFinancialAdvice".

@NathanTheAuthor @Mericamemed Because there are only two places in Australia: Gold Coast, and spiders. Nobody travels to Central Australia on purpose. You end up there when your life has taken a very fucked up turn. Sydney and Melbourne, that's about it. Okay, Perth I guess. But that's all you get.
English

@Mericamemed So then why is it that Australians are so much better travelled than Americans?
