@luckyatr @RealEnger1 @SocratesTheChad @Pirat_Nation Are devs of publicly traded companies ever really in charge? You really think the cash shop is metzen's vision?
English

@RealEnger1 @SocratesTheChad @Pirat_Nation I see zero evidence he’s being coerced into this or that he’s reluctantly lending his name to the project for money but had no involvement.
Like I’m sorry, the rot is coming straight from the source this time. He’s an Infested Terran.

I’m probably one of the only people that entered quite literally hundreds of tournaments for both games, so bits aside I’ll say this:
Melee and Ultimate at top level are both extremely difficult.
Melee might have generally higher APM, but Ultimate has so much jank across 86 matchups that it requires an insane amount of dedication to learn and master as well.
Melee requires you to L-cancel all aerials and to wavedash, no exceptions.
Ultimate requires you to fight Steve.
TLDR: both these games require suffering
Marshy@marshadowssb
A lot of Melee players have a huge superiority complex over Ult players for playing Melee I’m noticing

@ryangerritsen This video could have been like 6 minutes shorter, annoying to watch
English

@Bubbleteabath1 @Hoju89 @JJ_McCullough Because you are adverse to reading comprehension, not my problem
English

@TheToofz @Hoju89 @JJ_McCullough You really are making anglophones look like huge lazy francophobes who are adverse to education
English

The obvious conclusion to draw from snarky pieces like this is that it’s extremely difficult to learn a second language you don’t need for day-to-day communication as a grown adult. This is an extremely mainstream conclusion in linguistics, but a forbidden fact in Canada.

@Anthony__Koch He explains nothing and LITERALLY says he doesn't understand the opposing viewpoint at all. Is this supposed to be an own?

@champriot @dfeuling_ @matteopelleg and the other 15%?

@matteopelleg Also looking forward to you claiming those people are less human than you when you find out they exist
English

@matteopelleg You're going to be so upset holding this belief. I look forward to your enlightenment.
English

@YOWmom4 @Smileyyeg Also I don't disagree that it's beneficial to learn another language, I disagree with forcing people who don't need to learn it or want to learn it. It shouldn't be a mandatory class in schools.
English

@YOWmom4 @Smileyyeg Which makes it a totally functional language to learn if you're planning to visit Africa where most of the french-only speakers reside. Most of the other places with french as an official language have a high proficiency in english. (because it is a much more useful language)
English

Should every single francophone also be forced to learn English?
Stephen Maher@stphnmaher
Every high school graduate in this country should have good enough French to read a brief statement expressing condolences.
English

@cmgdank @LUCYMALTIPOO @MyLordBebo @healthdpt Now that you mention it i'm reminded how frowned upon it is by my family doctor when we go to walk-in clinics. Rostered patients or something. So even if the wait will be 1-2 weeks to see my GP, they'd still prefer I wait so they don't lose that money iirc
English

Everything is made increasingly difficult and tied to increasingly difficult systems which are supposed to be for "oversight" and such but it is more that they are padding for admin fees and such. The healthcare industry is a profit driven industry it is monetized you have to pay for service or insurance pays or subsidiaries pay. So they have motive to do things not in the interest of patients but in the interest of the hospitals and insurance companies and many of the doctors bank accounts.
English

@cmgdank @LUCYMALTIPOO @MyLordBebo @healthdpt How have they monetized it? i'm unfamiliar but curious?
English

@TheToofz @LUCYMALTIPOO @MyLordBebo @healthdpt @TheToofz I fully believe her, it is because it has been monetized.
English

@bullTat2 @LUCYMALTIPOO @cmgdank @MyLordBebo @healthdpt Both parts of that sentence are still terrifying.
At the very least i'm hoping these C graded students who manage to barely pass aren't capable of competing for a surgical position
English

@TheToofz @LUCYMALTIPOO @cmgdank @MyLordBebo @healthdpt they need above a C ..but still some students may get some help
English

@LUCYMALTIPOO @cmgdank @MyLordBebo @healthdpt surely the bar is higher than just getting over 50% when it comes to med school? i find this hard to believe
English

@cmgdank @MyLordBebo @healthdpt Remember…a D- med student gets the same degree as an A+ med student.

ok so the rosie story was even more insane than it looked
> be the australian tech guy who made a cancer vaccine for his dog
> first try: genetic algorithms to design a new drug from scratch
> works in simulation but would take years to test
> second try: screen 1 million existing compounds against the mutation
> two weeks of computation. find a perfect match
> it's patented
> patent holder says no to compassionate use
> what_did_you_expect.jpg
> spend two weeks just being with the dog
> 2am idea: what if i just make a vaccine
> chatgpt for pipeline, gemini for construct, grok for validation
> 300 gigabytes of raw sequencing data to half a page of vaccine construct
> university ethics approval would take until mid-2026
> dog doesn't have that long
> panik
> canine cancer expert connects him to a lab in queensland with existing approval
> drive 14 hours to get there
> inject
> three weeks later the tumors swell. immune system swarming
> six weeks later shrinking
> two months later legs returning to normal
> one mass doesn't respond
> sequence it again
> different cancer. the vaccine worked. the body grew a new tumor
he's now building a company so every dog owner can do this
he had the technology the whole time. he spent 18 months fighting for permission to use it

@ChrystalAshby @JCJasmin3 @Smileyyeg I don’t support useless knowledge being taught to children against their will, nice strawman though.
You believe first language grammar and math are equivalent to a useless second language?
Says more about you than me
English

@acajacques @JCJasmin3 @Smileyyeg I live here and it is ridiculous, unless you think i should be able to force you to learn specific things you don’t value that have no specific use in your life?
English

@TheToofz @JCJasmin3 @Smileyyeg Well, in this case their country has two national languages. So it's not ridiculous at all.
