@MightyGazelle1 Perception is highly influenced by experience. Not knowing what you're looking at, what nuances to look for, stuff like that. Having gained far more experience than most in that time, and being naturally exceptional anyways, his improvement makes a degree of sense.

It's the beautiful twist of it all, the method he wants to escape continues to be the only "right" one he can achieve.

That scene is Kiritsugu finally realizing what his ideal means when pushed to implementation and rejecting it, not randomly deciding to kill Illya and Iri.

the one mistake in fate zero that i dont see people talking about much is how urobuchi cant resist making kiritsugu a misunderstood heroic figure even in the end when hes mentally shooting his wife and kids in the head

@RealTruggler Since it didn't, he's simultaneously a tortured soul and a spoiled brat. Despite his obvious importance to the root story, he started feeling like a spinoff character halfway through it. When he returns, it almost feels like fanfic interacting with canon. It's awkward and unfun.

@RealTruggler Your process sucks then. Because understanding does not equate to fondness. His decisions make sense to his character. And if that's enough to make you like him, then you're as vapid as Karin or Sakura. His journey is unsatisfying, he needed more for that arc to work as intended.
