While generating clean electricity, it turns extra uranium into fresh plutonium in a blanket around the core. So it breeds its own fuel for the future. This is stage two of India's three-stage nuclear dream. It opens the door wide to stage three, where we tap into our massive thorium reserves that the world envies.
