Trump is about to have the Iran issue done and wrapped up with a little bow. No WW3. No Draft. A 50 year long mess of bad policy cleaned up in a matter of weeks. What will the doomers rage about next?

@Mattlegostar2 @CBSNews That’s fine. I’d rather pay a little extra for real chocolate than a mound of high-fructose corn syrup disguised as chocolate.

@OrnerRyan @Bbravo_724 @Conservative2TX Trump is the one shifting the goal posts. What happened to “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” in all caps??? Now you’re trying to sell this bullshit as “winning?” What an idiot.

@Bbravo_724 @Conservative2TX Not sure what that war has to do with this one? Would you like to discuss modern day and be relevant orrr discuss a past war that bears no impact on today’s conflicts… really weird concept that shows you trying to shift goal posts for no real reason.

So let me get this straight. - Iran keeps the regime. - Iran keeps missiles. - Iran keeps uranium. - Iran gains more leverage over the Strait. And Trump gets to puff out his chest, yell “victory,” and sprint for the exit. What exactly did the West win here? Because from where I’m sitting, this looks less like strength and more like theater. The kind where everyone claps at the end, even though the building is still on fire. - Russia is watching. - China is watching. - North Korea is watching. And the lesson they are learning is not that America is unstoppable. It is that America talks big, hits something, declares success, and then looks for the nearest door. That is what a paper dragon looks like.

@OrnerRyan @Conservative2TX Hey genius, What’s the point of ‘blowing stuff up’ if it doesn’t change the geopolitical landscape to our benefit - in fact, it could be worse? You might want to re-analyze your definition of “victory.” # of “targets” hit is not the same thing as achieving strategic goals.

A paper dragon doesn’t destroy an entire airforce and navy while strategically killing 50 key leaders and 15k+ soldiers without ever putting a boot on the ground🤦🏻‍♂️🤡 yall got some weird ass takes here lmao. No matter how much you try to spin the narrative, this is a military strategic victory. Especially considering everyone including Iran said “they were not Iraq” and could destroy America with ease… America lost 13 troops and 5 jets lmao. That is a total lopsided victory.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
Jeremy London@SirJeremyLondon

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

To be clear: Calling it regime change when Iran is still ruled by the islamic republic is nonsense, and surely the Trump administration understands this.

This might surprise younger people but in the ‘90s most of us knew how to read & were culturally literate. You could mention King Arthur or Citizen Kane and everyone knew what you meant. We were capable of writing essays. We had educational TV. We have lost so much, so quickly.

Australia might still be the world's best place to live but we're letting ourselves down big time. Four weeks into the Iran war: 10% of our servos wholly or partially out of fuel. 30% of farmers worried they lack the diesel to sow or harvest their crops. Flights being cancelled. No Australian-flagged fleet of tankers that could be tasked with a fuel rescue mission; with no naval ships capable of helping to break any Iranian blockade; and with no Australian air power yet despatched to the Middle East to help the US-Israel campaign against an apocalyptic theocracy, even though the Straits will never be secure while it lasts. Successive governments convinced themselves that an 'unstoppable green energy transition' meant access to fossil fuels was neither necessary nor desirable. That was always a fantasy, and now we're paying the price. Fossil fuels are still responsible for 90% of our energy needs. The Bondi massacre was a wake up call on social cohesion. The Iran war is a wake up call on national resilience. Dealing with both means recovering the self-belief needed for Australia to stay Australian. Time to face facts on energy. Russia never chanted death to America. Russia never held our sailors at gunpoint. Russia is not a threat to the United States. So why was meddling in their war with Ukraine in our interest but stopping a nuclear Iran is not?
