This is no different from Roger Rabbit having a human wife named Jessica or how Betty Boop had a dog boyfriend named Bimbo. The big issue is that neither of these couples visually clash as much while Sonic and Elise do, and you're supposed to take it seriously somehow.

@e_fosa08 Lin would not change her mind. Her ambitions were to set in stone for it to change, just like her grudge and past grievances with her family. And Tenzin was not going to wait around when Pema basically presented herself on a silver platter. And honestly, I don't blame him.

Sometimes I wonder could Lin have eventually changed her mind about having kids if Tenzin gave it more time? Or was Tenzin under too much pressure as the last airbending master to wait around hoping things would change? 🤔

@RisewireDaily I get where you are coming from, but Zuko was a better person because Ozai's flaws and Iroh's influence, post Lu Ten's death. Zuko learns what not to be like (Ozai) and to find his own way to the right path (Iroh). And settle his own inner demons (Azula) too.

Am I the only one who thinks Katara Zuko’s reunion scenes prove that having a father like Ozai makes you become a better person than having a father like hakoda that abandoned his children for war?

@ReignPHX @paloma_datgirl And that's not to say that there aren't consequences for Aang not taking his place as the Avatar. But I wouldn't pretend to blame the war on a kid. The adults before him failed the world because of greed, power, and personal entanglements.

I'm not placing blame for a war decades in the making on a 12 year old who hasn't matured when his past life could have overthrew the Fire Nation like Kyoshi did before him.

Korra definitely had the raw power to defeat Ozai, nobody’s denying that. But ending the Hundred Year War? That’s way bigger than just winning a fight. Aang won because he was exactly the Avatar the world needed at that moment. He united people, inspired hope, mastered energybending, and still refused to lose himself in the process. Korra probably would’ve handled Ozai way faster but rebuilding the world after all that destruction, hatred, and division is where Aang separates himself. Anybody can end a war but not everybody can heal the world after it.

I'm not putting that on a kid, that could have been any child, by the way, who would have been murdered anyway. Did he fuck up during and after the 100 year war, yes. But causing it? Nah, that was Roku 100%.

I stand by that opinion. Hear me out. We all watched a PG13 cartoon but the novels are so much darker. People thinj Aang leaving for 100 years just meant the fire nation simply captured territory and committed a genocide which are both bad but its WAY worse when you actually look into it. People were getting murdered, raped, assassinated, etc etc all because Aang ran from his duty as the Avatar. Entire lifetimes were spent in slavery, hunger, poverty, etc. Take the realism of essentially Hitler and Nazi Germany going unchecked for 100 years and thats what the Fire Nation was doing, and we ALL hear constantly about how bad WWII was. Yes, Aang severely fucked up. He had a nostalgic and entertaining cartoon but realistically he fucked up worse than Roku.
