I think most Modern Evil Dead matches the tone of Evil Dead 1.
Evil Dead 1 is still funny, but its also a lot meaner and cruel to its characters when compared to 2. And some people DO NOT VIBE with 1 at all (theyre wrong. But thats another discussion).
