@FreeLeaguePub @Gen_Con Great to hear! I really like the new TOR system but AiME was my tables favorite way to play 5e so glad to hear that some of the new ideas may carry over. Thanks for supporting both products!

Free League Announces The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying For 5E ⚔️
The path to Middle-earth will soon open for new adventurers.
At @Gen_Con - Free League revealed that the acclaimed The One Ring™ RPG is coming in a 5E adaptation, entitled The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying.

@AuGateway @FreeLeaguePub I know Year Zero is their baby but unlike other core system hacks (looking at you, PbtA) it does feel wholly unique from their other games. Time as a resource, and the focus on memory works really well for the tone of this setting and I'm excited to see it in practice.

Been reading the early access for @FreeLeaguePub's Blade Runner RPG. Honestly I went in VERY skeptical but in my initial pass I think a lot of thought and care has gone into focusing on the right themes of the setting and the mechanics fit an investigation. So far so good! #TTRPG

@Crossface02 Case by case, ones paid as true hirelings, including normal humans, I let them fight and test after combat or a serious wound/witness death. For your cheap torch bearers without even a half-share test when shit hits the fan. Depends on how the players "lead" them.

@JohanNohr One of the few games you'll say "Oh, thank God, a Partially Rotten Apple"

This image is sooo burned into my brain, that this is always what I think of when I hear half-orc or dwarf especially.
You have any gaming pics like that?

English

@optionalrule Yeah I always try to resist the urge to flesh everything out because then you leave mystery boxes available for later when a great idea organically crops up. Like an "open slot" for plot/setting ideas. Only say what the players see
English

@TheWorstStory Nice, thanks. Spiral campaign design is a good technique. Even then though, there is a world of difference between information and useful information.
English

#DnD lore is often mishandled. It works best when it drives something at the table, with a secondary role of bringing cohesion to the world. Narrative economy applies to games too, perhaps even more. I blame Tolkien and Howard for this notion of sprawling lore.
English

@YoDanno Yup, rest his soul. His art is so intrinsic to the soul of RPGs in the sense that he brought levity that we as players experience when the dice fail us.

English

@TheWorstStory That is wonderful! Looks like a Jim Holloway piece?
