So, real talk, he did his best and everyone I spoke to with any insight on what was happening in the shadows says he was the most honest broker trying to find a middle ground to get this done I feel sorry for him to be quite honest, he actually tried to create policy and a positive generational impact for western PA and got left high and dry His words about US Steel committing to western PA are understandable as a state politician but sadly he will be the adversary to the corporate doing now what it must due in respect to all its stakeholders, particularly the shareholders who wonder what strategic national security asset trades at <8x EBITDA I hope the governor and the US Steel CEO can at least have a coffee or a drink together in the sunset before they assume their places on the battlefield to come after this decision But hey, the koala cannot be mad at the governor, he tried his best I wish more politicians tried to create positive policy as their legacy and not just chase the dopamine hit of validation But as I’ve learned today, even with all political incentives removed, a politician that only knows talking points from decades ago cannot learn new tricks and realities even if that is the rational thing to do
