Recent droughts in Europe once again made visible the "Hunger Stones" in some Czech and German rivers. These stones were used to mark desperately low river levels that would forecast famines. This one, in Elbe river, is from 1616 and says: "If you see me, cry" #archaeohistories

My cousin saw this glow above his village - Acol in Kent - at 10.15pm last night. I’m guessing it’s reflection of a local source of sodium lighting - maybe the A299? - from low cloud hanging over the village. Anyone got a better idea?

@IanDunt Completely agree about the oximeter. In combination with other measures - see the NEWS scoring system - it takes the subjectivity out of when to contact 111, emergency services etc. I relied upon it heavily.

Bit of covid advice. If you think you might have covid, or have tested positive, the first thing to get is an oximeter. They're about £20 and easily available online.

@IanDunt This is not good advice. If medicine was as easy as attach a machine and get a diagnosis, we would all be doctors. The ambulance service is getting lots of calls due to misinterpreted pulse ox readings. Best advice is look out for red flags. Short of breath/chest pain/confusion.

Point out that @MarkFrancois12 is one of the least funny accounts out there and that his fans are condescending thickos who're so convinced they're smart and they... spend the day not being funny and being condescending thickos. The irony is the closest to funny they'll ever be

Oh dear. A hospital in Somerset has just announced it’s not taking any new patients because it has so many COVID-19 cases. Not the headlines you want as we start to ease lockdown...

Remember when Brexit was going to improve our lives? Feels like a lifetime ago. They stopped even pretending about half way through last year. And then we put them in charge of everything.
