It angers me the Jays pushed out a guy who dominates his job while bringing in people who are considered a joke in MLB. At least AA/Beeston gave them a parting gift in generational talent in Vlad Jr. Hopefully they don’t waste it like they did this year.

@BlueJaysDad I definitely think he should get rest days here and there, but with one month left I don’t think it’d be wise to sit him for another extended period. He’s showing leadership that an inexperienced team can thrive off of

Pearson and Hatch were both planned to be essential parts of the rotation, and both got injured. Pearson especially.

#BlueJays now have 28.9% playoff odds per @fangraphs. With those odds... • it'd really be very unwise trade top prospects for rentals (i.e. Austin Martin for Scherzer) • but 28.9% isn't zero… & if you improve your team, you improve your odds. Being measured buyers makes sense.

Semien’s contract was very clearly a “prove it” deal and he just so happened to prove himself out of our price range. This is such a dense take in more than one way.
