Today's @home_assistant project: adding my heat recovery ventilation system. Turns out it has a Serial port! Finally control over speeds from my phone and monitoring of temps in the summer. RJ45 -> DB9 -> USB -> Pi

Help !!! Looks like my @home_assistant running on a Rpi3B+ has crashed, I can ping the pi but not ssh into it, suspect its the sdcard

@smarth0mejunkie @The_HA_Guy I’m using a Wyze V2 and an old Mijia1080p 1st gen (I love the format without the base) which fails from time to time. How is your experience with Tapo C200 going? Thanks!

@danieldk1 Thanks for the advice its half duplex (2 wires) i have played with the timing but gets modbus disconnects after a few retries

@The_HA_Guy Do you know if you are using Full duplex ( 4 wire ) or half duplex ( 2 wire - more common )comms ? in half duplex, Each side needs to give some time ( around 100 ms ) for a device to reply on a request, We had errors until we set the HMI to delay 100ms between requests

I am trying to get #modbus working on #esp32 with #esphome in #homeassistant using a RS485 converter, anyone else got this working???
