One of my major beefs with Hasan and the people in his orbit is they just say shit. They make zero effort to tie it to reality. This statement does not even slightly square with his actual behavior one bit. We had a chance to crush the fascist Republicans last election. Donald Trump would have finally been held accountable for his crimes. The country would not have embraced fascism. Millions of vulnerable people would not be harmed. And what did Hasan do? He spent all of his time attacking Democrats and demotivating people from voting for the anti-fascist party. And now that the fascist one and we have a "Nazi" President, he wants to say "oh well Democrats are not doing enough to fight the fascists." It's peak gaslighting. People begged him to stop lying about Kamala and Democrats before the election and he refused.

@Undoomed That was the entire point of Affirmative Action type programs. Forcing workplaces to consider people of color more than they would have. Racism kept certain workplaces from hiring black and brown people despite them being the same level of expertise, or higher.

If Kamala ran again on policies like universal healthcare, tuition-free college, canceling all student debt, abolishing ICE, universal childcare, and other left-wing ideas, a large portion of the K-Hive would turn on her instantly. Not because those policies are unpopular on their own, but because they represent the same left they’ve been conditioned to oppose. For years, moderates have told their base that the left is the problem. That messaging sticks. So when those same ideas show up, even in a different form, the reaction isn’t curiosity or support. It’s rejection. At this point, it feels like many moderates are less driven by a vision for transformative policy and more by opposition to the left itself. That opposition becomes the identity. It creates a sense of standing for something, even if there’s no clear alternative being offered. And that’s the deeper issue. Politics becomes less about building something better and more about who you’re against. When that happens, division becomes the driving force instead of progress.

This is a pervasive structural problem with diversity casting. If there's going to be a romantic relationship between the leads, there needs to be some level of genuine sexual attraction between them, or there's no sizzle. No amount of acting can overcome that, and audiences notice the flattening of romantic affect that results. As it turns out, white people don't generally find blacks (or whatever mystery meat breeding experiment resulted in Zendaya) particularly attractive. Result is bed death on the silver screen. This reflects (or helps to drive?) the general erotic devitalization afflicting 21st culture.
