The Objective Believer

Here’s a really common question/objection addressed.

I predict that in the next five to ten years folks are going to wake up to the fact that they have been served a one sided narrative that produced some truly bottom of the barrel reasoning and behaviors—all in the name of “discernment”.

I read the book, Physics of Heaven, and while I didn’t agree with everything in there, I found the premise to be fascinating: are there biblical truths that have been hijacked by pagan religions? And IF there are, have we allowed this to scare us away from embracing these truths?

“SJ, why don’t you ever talk about such and such?” —-Why doesn’t the nose ever see? Or the eyes ever hear? I think the fundamental flaw here is assuming that a ministry or content creator should function as a one-stop shop for everything under the sun.

There’s a logical fallacy known as Amazing Familiarity or Omniscience where someone makes a claim that appears impossible to know from their vantage point. Such as whether Copeland, “pretends” to speak in tongues. But maybe @Truth_matters20 has some insider info? Let’s hear it

The enemy will often bring forth error, abuse, and extremes right in the midst of a move of God, knowing he’ll be able to use weak-minded believers who struggle with nuance to fight against it.

You may have created a deficiency in your life and walk with God by limiting your exposure to only certain kinds of teaching and ministry. Familiarity equals comfort, but not always growth. Branch out every now and then and see what other parts of the Body you can benefit from.
