There's a whole explanation of this on YouTube by The Pontius (video link in comments). But to summarize: Humans are the only race in the galaxy that did not abuse their power before the Age of Strife, only to be betrayed enslaved annihilated and tortured when humanity fought its civil war against the Men of Iron. No xeno races aided humanity in its weakest moments. Instead it was more profitable for those races to kill off or enslave humans than to help them. This led to humanity’s extreme xenophobia and the realization that xenos races are not worth allying with. Additionally, Chaos corruption is far more rampant among other species turning any xenos into a ticking time bomb (as seen with the Laer, Yu’vath, Saruthi,Thyrrus, and even seen with Tau). (and do note dark eldar was the basis of eldar society their hedonism was their downfall and what caused the birth of Slaanesh, necrons do not care for life and the majority seek to annihilate all life in the galaxy, same for orks and tyranids) Without the God Emperor everything would fall to ruin by the Ruinous Powers, as Chaos who are the very embodiment of evil would corrupt everything, and by extension Humans are the only ones who can empower the God Emperor of Mankind through sacrifice and worship. Therefore humanity are the good guys for they are the only ones directly facing off against and fighting Chaos. This is why daemons and the Chaos Gods themselves call the Emperor Anathema and fear him.

Greetings. There has been really disgusting gendered talk lately. Some chuds keep saying that women are too weak to serve in the Guard or become Custodes, etc for physiological reasons. Any time a woman is in the leading role or part of the action, the usual suspects start up again. So I thought I should share something. Back in 2019, I attended a Black Library Live seminar called "Heroines of the Imperium". Chris Wraight and Phil Kelly were presenting the seminar. -Chris said that the males and females of the 40K universe are nothing like us (modern-day humans). Mentally, and even physically, they are different. What he said does make sense to me. Besides the forces of natural evolution, the DAoT humans have been known to tinker with humanity's genetics. And one needs to factor in the effects of 60 million years of Warp seepage into reality, subtly and not so subtly affecting the biology of all living things. -Phil Kelly went on to say that female 40K characters tend to be more "switched on" than their male counterparts. Meaning that they are much more observant and thoughtful, while the males are blinded by aggression and testosterone. He said if he were part of the Guard, he would prefer working under female commanders since they are less likely to waste his life on some impulsive whim. If that's not enough to convince you, and you need an informed expert opinion, I gotcha.
