My 2nd year trading… I flipped $2.5k → $5k in a week. Withdrew and felt unstoppable. Started again with $2.5k. Ran it up to +$1.2k… then $1.8k. My acquaintance said: “Close it.” I said: “What do you know about trading?” Profit hit $2.3k. I told him: “My target is $2.5k. I see where the market is going.” It pushed to $2,450. Just $50 more. He said: “Close.” I didn’t. Then it dropped. $2,450 → $2,000 → $2,100 → $1,400. I started sweating. Told myself: “If it goes back to $2k, I’m out.” It went back to $2k… I didn’t close. Why? Because I had already seen $2,450. Closing felt like I was “losing” $450. So I held. It went back to $2.3k. Still didn’t close. At this point, I wasn’t trading anymore… I was trading emotions and was hoping. My whole life paused. Just me and the chart. Then reality hit. $2k → $1.6k → $800. Fear kicked in. “Okay, I’ll close at $1.5k.” It never came back. $900 → $0 → -$700. Margin call. Account gone. All because of $50. I didn’t just lose money… I broke every rule: - No profit protection - No exit plan - Ego trading - Moving targets mid-trade - Letting “what I saw before” control decisions That day taught me: The market doesn’t care what you almost made. That’s also why I like prop firms. They force you to respect rules… and that discipline carries over to your personal account. Especially with firms like @HolaPrimeGlobal Founded by someone who’s been on institutional desks (Citibank & BlackRock). So the structure actually makes sense. Less pressure when you’re not risking everything at once. And execution actually matches what you see on TradingView with no history of payout denial. Be honest… Have you ever watched a winning trade turn into a loss because you refused to close?
