Zach Cregger says his RESIDENT EVIL is light on zombies, heavy on T-Virus mutants. He tells @IGN, "This movie doesn’t utilize zombies that much. It’s much more focused on the weird creature stuff than the zombies." "You have this opportunity for the T-Virus to do all these really fascinating things to the human body, and to the world around you, and so to just limit it to zombies feels like a squandered opportunity," Cregger explains. "So I tried to really vary it up."

@DallasJ90328772 @Jetifyed2077 He also confirmed he didn't want to write a "faithful" adaptation of the games because the games told their stories and were so amazing. And has has countless times its a film base don the feeling you get playing a Resident Evil game, with Resource/Ammo Management, stalkers, etc.

@DallasJ90328772 @Jetifyed2077 You do realise capon came to HIM, and that he wrote this film SPECIFICALLY because it's Resident Evil. He has noted COUNTLESS times he has played the games, including Resident Evil: Requiem more than 3 times, and has a astounding love for the games.

I see the vision, but it's not Resident Evil.
For a first trailer, my impression is that they're making this into generic indie horror movie, and I know he has a good reputation, but RE is not just about the horror.
It's also the campiness and cheese that comes with it.
