Or is this kind of behavior only considered “normal” when it happens in someone else’s country? Japan has rules and order for a reason. When newcomers refuse to follow them and call it “just having fun,” it creates real friction. We Japanese have every right to protect our laws, our resources, and our way of life. This attitude should never become normal in Japan.

Food inflation is nowhere the level in Japan as it is in Canada. This is from a Ramen shop that I would often go to in Tokyo when I lived here more than 15 years ago. At the time this bowl of noodles would cost ¥950 Now it is ¥1100 For context, that is about $10 CAD. Where in Canada can you get a full belly for 10 Bucks?
