Let me point at palworld on one creature, in that update trailer they showed a creature that looks like a smooth rayquaza but with wyrdeers antlers and mane.

Nintendo has reportedly suffered a setback after Japan’s Patent Office rejected one of its Pokémon-related patent applications. The patent covered touchscreen gameplay features like moving your character, throwing an item to catch creatures, sending them into battle, and choosing commands during fights. According to the patent office, those ideas weren’t new enough. The examiner pointed to several earlier examples, including a Pokémon fan game shown on YouTube in 2013, saying similar mechanics were already public before Nintendo filed the patent.

Joe Ziegler has announced he is leaving Bungie after serving as Marathon’s game director Ziegler confirmed that Del Chafe III, previously the game’s assistant director, will take over as Marathon’s new game director. He will lead the project alongside creative director Julia Nardin. Ziegler said both have already been key leaders on the team and expressed confidence they will guide the game into its next chapter.

Netflix has revealed that around 300 of its movies and TV shows released this year used generative AI somewhere in the production process, mostly during post-production. Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said AI helped create complex scenes such as large crowds, battle sequences, and establishing shots. One example was The American Experiment, where 17 minutes of AI-enhanced footage were completed twice as fast and at half the cost of traditional VFX methods. Sarandos pushed back against the idea that AI is replacing filmmakers: “Those 17 minutes were produced twice as fast and at half the cost of previous options. But the important thing is, they look better.” “I don’t think faster and cheaper matters if it’s not better.” Regarding creators: “We believe it is going to enhance their abilities, not replace them.”

According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, some third-party game studios are paying Sony thousands of dollars to feature their games on PlayStation’s official social media at specific times. The report says some developers are frustrated because those paid posts are flooded with negative comments and community notes from players mad with PlayStation’s recent decisions It also says this could become a bigger problem for future marketing campaigns, with GTA 6 mentioned as one example if the backlash continues. Good job guys if this is true, complaining works

Troy Baker says the video game industry is trying to save itself as studios deal with rising development costs, layoffs, canceled games, and a market that has become harder to succeed in. In an interview with Insider Gaming, Baker said it’s wrong to think every game company is run by “greedy fat cats” with unlimited money. He believes many studios are simply trying to stay in business while keeping their employees working. He understands why so many companies are making live-service games. If those games help keep a studio running and protect jobs, he believes the strategy makes sense.
