The BA devs really shot themselves in the foot by reducing Red Winter to just a "Russia parody". They should've just kept it at some parallels, but creatively make it unique, similar to how Trinity has parallels to Britain without being a one-to-one copy...

Devs work under constraints. Constraints tend to be a mix of accrued (tech debt, pipeline etc) and top down (budgets, schedules).
The latter can lead to the former spiraling out of control.
By the time devs are getting blame, company structure tends to be rather FUBAR.

The main reason some streamers viewbot on Twitch is because of the terrible discoverability on the platform. The more viewers you have, the higher you rank in a category, the more real viewers you get.

A note on our work to combat viewbotting, from CEO Dan Clancy: There’s been a lot of discussion recently about viewbotting on Twitch, and I wanted to share an update on our enforcement efforts. Viewbotting is bad for our business. We don't benefit from it, and we believe it harms the creator ecosystem overall. However, effectively combatting viewbotting is challenging. As we deploy updates to our real-time detection algorithms, viewbotting companies quickly respond with updates to avoid detection. Also, our detection systems must be precise to ensure that legitimate viewers are appropriately counted. Today, we’re introducing a new enforcement type that we plan to roll out over the next few weeks. For channels identified as persistently viewbotting, we will apply a cap to the streamer’s CCV for a fixed period of time, on all of the Twitch surfaces. The cap will be based upon historical data regarding that creator’s non-viewbotted traffic. Repeated violations will result in longer penalties. Streamers will be notified when an enforcement is applied, along with the duration of the penalty, and can appeal through the appeals portal. While streamers will be notified, we will not make a follow-on announcement when we begin issuing these enforcements, and will not publicly share details about when and where these enforcements are applied. Unfortunately, providing details simply makes it easier for companies to work around our interventions. We believe this approach will help us make meaningful progress against viewbotting. We will continue refining our systems and expand when we apply these enforcements over time. - Dan Clancy

I want to preface that I do not like what is happening to this Vtuber / artist in the UK. Being arrested, having her devices and more seized by the police, being monitored... It doesn't feel good to see it happen.
HOWEVER: It's very important to recognize WHAT she was drawing.
We just came off of a week where people all over Twitter and in games journalism were calling men who enjoyed the video game "Pragmata" pedo's. It was a horrendous broadbrush simply because the game stars a little girl that the player protects and bonds with in a fatherly capacity. A lot of men playing this emotionally connected to Diana and expressed an interest in starting a family of their own. The vast majority of people playing this game were not sexualizing Diana. The ones that were? They should be condemned.
Sexualizing children is a crime. In the UK a law was established in 2009 that made the creation and possession of explicit material involving children illegal. This INCLUDES fictional illustrations. Mimi's illustrations broke this law.
There are people defending Mimi claiming that this violated freedom of expression. Here's the important thing: American freedom of expression does not extend to the UK. That should be obvious.
As important as it is, that freedom of expression *has a limit*. By American law the possession of ILLUSTRATED material involving children is protected unless they qualify as Obscene. Ashcroft vs Free Speech Coalition in 2002 ruled that fictional drawings cannot be banned if no real children were harmed. A statute passed in 2003 is where the "Obscene" wording comes from and it specifically outlined beastiality, sadistic/masochistic abuse, and sexual intercourse.
One of the illustrations on Mimi's socials involves her character, depicted as a child, engaging with a dog. Even American freedom of expression would not have protected Mimi in this case.
Again, I don't like that this is happening to her, but we need to look at this in a way that is honest, because many people defending her are focusing that she was arrested for her art without actually talking about what the art depicts.
