I don’t think that Toyin Abraham understood the meaning of Celebrity Endorsements for the politicians & for popular political movements. I think she never understood the meaning of her “Asiwaju baby” & her other tweets. The problem with celebrities in Nigeria is ego. They think they’re bigger than everyone else. But cussing is not a crime, punishable under any law. Many Nigerians have this vexatious & bloated sense of self-worth. I pass my neighbor mentality. But Celebrity Endorsements is not a new phenomenon. Here in America, it’s big business. Celebrities put their names behind popular campaigns & the politicians they believe in. In fact, they campaign openly for them as well. They openly endorse their candidates. U.S Celebrities understand precisely the implication. I don’t think Madam Toyin understood the meaning of her endorsement for Asiwaju. George Clooney supported Barack Obama twice; in 2008 & 2012 presidential campaigns. He endorsed Hillary Clinton for the 2016 presidential election as well. Taylor Swift endorsed Joe Biden a month before the 2020 presidential election, but she is yet to endorse him publicly this time. There are countless other examples. Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Desmond Elliot, Zack Orji, Yul Edochie, & Olaiye Igwe have the right to endorse, campaign & support whoever they want. But they should also be magnanimous enough to live with the consequences. That is just the truth of the matter.

The state government looked away when Voters were being intimidated and harassed during elections… APC supporters cheered on. An SSA to the Governor was seen leading a walk with placards that screamed bigotry… APC supporters cheered on. I was repeatedly attacked, APC Trolls tried to defame my character severally.. All the APC intellectuals cheered on and laughed. I hope you all see that you laid the foundation for the hate, cruelty and intolerance in the air.
