Women are not at risk of losing any of their rights. Trans people are one to two percent of the population. We are 51% of the population. Trans people have existed in society for centuries. They are not in opposition to us. They never have been, and they never will be.

Nothing about trans people or trans rights has piggybacked onto gay rights. Gay and trans people are intertwined throughout history, as is their fight for equality. Gender is not a magical essence, but we're quite sure that the way we think about gender, has biological roots. Again, biology vs nurture.

If gender is just a set of performative acts and costumes, then it's a matter of choice. And that has its own issues.
