I just get frustrated with the folks that are just done with him after 8 weeks this season. And those same people will find something else to bitch about if he turns it around.

his ops was in the 700s majority of that year and including when he got hit on the hand. im not even sure why im arguing about riley since i like him too. but since the literal date he signed his contract to right now he has been league avg when healthy, injury prone and unavailable at other times, and perhaps literally the worst range and ooa of all everyday 3B and this is all during his mid 20s.

Flying open trying to park every pitch. Zero interest in the team approach. I have no idea what happened to the dude they paid but this ain’t him.

okay. riley can use that as an excuse until 2032. but only him, any other player who struggles with monster contracts will just have to suck it up. i wonder if the braves still sign him to that extension if they knew the only way he would be capable of hitting is with his personal hitting coach and not his own abilities or god forbid a major league hitting coach who talks to him everyday.
