People who like standard time: People with kids that don't want to go to school in the pitch black. People who want to wake up to a sunrise. People who don't like making their kids go to bed while the sun is still up all summer. The people who work outdoors like construction workers and farmers.

Seeing more hate of DST in light of this (ha) and I just don’t get it. Do you people like the sun setting at 5:00 pm? Why do so many people like standard time? It’s kinda nice and cozy for the holidays but beyond that it’s just depressing. Who likes standard time?

BREAKING: The House has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-a-year clock changes by a 308-117 vote. Backed by President Trump, the bill now heads to the Senate. If approved and signed into law, Americans would no longer have to change their clocks.

@ItbeCan @jfazli @MFparkhurst Incorrect. That is when a ball is flying at you, NOT when you intentionally initiate the motion and hit it with your arm first. This was a missed call.

@MFparkhurst What I don’t understand is why no one is talking about how the ball hit the defender’s arm which makes it a penalty. The kick to Yamal didn’t seem penalty-worthy to me, but the handball did! The defender knows it too, u can see by his immediate reaction.

Hold up.. now there's a *NEW* bill that has introduced: the "Sunshine for our Kids Act of 2026" which would make *Standard* time permanent For Nashville: Earliest sunrise in early June at 4:29 am (!!) Latest sunset in late June at 7:08 pm Losing one hour of evening daylight

@TimBuckleyWX "If you keep standard time, there's a lot of "wasted daylight" between 5-7am and no late summer sunsets." Then wake the fuck up, clown!! The early bird catches the biggest worm, loser.

A lot of people debate Daylight Saving Time vs Standard time. Right now, it’s being debated in the government with many advocating for permanent daylight time (one hour ahead of our natural system). I’m not taking sides, but am here to present you with facts about what permanent daylight time would mean, and the alternatives. The times listed are for Greensboro, NC. ——- Below I will list 4 scenarios: - One, the system we currently have where we switch clocks twice a year. - Another, where we stay on standard time. - Another, where we stay on daylight time. - Another, which is a 30 min compromise. You'll see they all have their pros and cons. Current system: - About 4 months of 8pm sunsets April - August (latest 8:43pm) - Summer sunrise between 6 - 6:30 am (earliest 6:01am) - About 3 months of 5-6pm sunsets (earliest 5:04pm) - Winter sunrise mostly between 7 - 7:30 am - Switch clocks forward in spring, and backward in fall Standard Time all year (which is our natural unadjusted time): - No 8pm sunsets ever - About 4 months of 7pm sunsets April - August (latest 7:43pm) - Summer sunrise between 5 - 5:30am (earliest 5:01am) - About 3 months of 5-6pm sunsets (earliest 5:04pm) - Winter sunrise mostly between 7 - 7:30 am - This is our natural body clock Daylight Time all year (which is the adjusted +1 hour time we use in summer currently): - About 4 months of 8pm sunsets April - August (latest 8:43pm) - Summer sunrise between 6 - 6:30 am (earliest 6:01am) - No winter sunsets in the 5pm hour - About 3 months of 6-7pm sunsets (earliest 6:04pm) - Winter sunrise will be very late 8 - 8:30 am time!! 30 minute switch and keep it: - Only about 2 months of 8pm sunsets June - July (latest 8:13pm) - Summer sunrise between 5:30 - 6:00am (earliest 5:31am) - About 3 months of 5:30pm - 6:30pm sunsets (earliest 5:34pm) - Winter sunrise 7:30 - 8am time - No changing of the clocks If you keep standard time, there's a lot of "wasted daylight" between 5-7am and no late summer sunsets. If you keep daylight time, it's a weird world where our sun rises as late as 8:30am in the winter, but the sunset is never before 6pm. If you keep switching, you have the best of both worlds but have to endure an adjustment twice a year. You can decide for yourself what's best!

@ThinkFreedomToo @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh If you then argue that the ball hitting his elbow means he made his body unnaturally bigger than I suggest you search up tchouameni vs liverpool, gabriel vs newcastle, odegaard vs liverpool. Are of those are ruled no handballs which is even worse than Yamal’s

@Cietauu @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh That's when avoiding a shot, moving away from the ball. The motion here is towards the ball, just like the rule states in my screenshot. Say Digne doesn't hit him and Yamal does that then scores, the goal wouldn't stand because he handles the ball in the sequence.

@ThinkFreedomToo @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh Handballs are also judged on whether you’re making your body unnaturally larger with the arm or not. If you chop his arms off in this situation it would still hit Yamal regardless so the arms does not play a factor in it.

@Cietauu @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh So tell me... if a baseball batter leans into a pitch and get hit by the ball, is he awarded a homerun? Digne was nowhere nesr conpleting his motion when Yamal threw himself at the ball, arm 1st. Has nothing to do with avoiding a kick and everything about pushing the ball through

@ThinkFreedomToo @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh You clearly don’t watch the sport to know what is considered “deliberate” and natural hand positioning. Yamal jumped into the challenge and turned his body because Digne was going to kick at him, so it’s normal to turn your back on the ball to avoid being hit in the face…

Debunking The Collectivist Cancer
@Cietauu @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh He deliberately touched the ball with his arm as he jumped towards the ball while turning his arm facing the ball first. That was intentional and nowhere near trying to avoid Digne's clearance which hadn't happened yet. Tucking your arms is for when you move away from a shot.

@ThinkFreedomToo @BlakeR2025 @gavinmchughh I never understood how people can speak so confidently about things they know nothing about. Balls hit players arms every now and then and it’s never handball if their arms are tucked no matter what. Did you expect him to chop his arms off before going in?

Daylight saving time was first adopted nationally during World War I to conserve energy. More than a century later, changing the clocks no longer delivers meaningful energy savings and has become an outdated disruption. I voted for the Sunshine Protection Act to end the twice-yearly clock changes and make daylight saving time permanent.

@SusanLiTV The French defender does not try to kick the ball. Obvious. He saw in the very las moment the spaniard attacker, then he kick him. May be he expect the fault was in outside the penalty zone. Absolute mistake for him.

@gavinmchughh Stupid post. It doesn’t matter if he thought he was kicking the ball. You can’t just blindly kick someone. If not a foul; there’d be kicking like this everywhere. He was badly beat and didn’t have a choice.

I consistently hear from Georgians in the 12th District who are sick and tired of resetting their clocks twice a year. We're one step closer! I just voted to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, which would make Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent—eliminating the twice-yearly change. Help me urge the Senate to get it done!

✅ JUST PASSED: The Sunshine Protection Act It’s time to lock the clock. Twice a year, Americans have to disrupt their daily lives, springing forward and falling back an hour. The Sunshine Protection Act ends that for good, meaning there's more light at the end of the day for people to exercise outdoors, return safely from school, and attract customers to their retail businesses.
