@stirrups69 In reality you can be politically shia while being sunni.! Most in imam Ali (as) army were considered (in today theology) as sunnis while they were called shia ne ali becz they follow Ali and ahlul baith (as). U can follow ahlulbaith while be on your basic sunni fiqh.

Iran relied on financial empire of Gulf heavily to do financial transactions, to buy parts from different regions to assemble them back in Iran. If Gulf rulers decide to take revenge, they could sufficate Iran’s already collapsed economy. They have enormous leverage post war. I don’t think Iran will be able to repair relationship with the Gulf in near future except maybe if it’s transformed to a different form of government
