@MichaelRedd_ Having done NBA as a beat writer and TV, never needed a stat sheet or a teleprompter. All my film study/analysis, knowing play calls, sets, adjustments made btw games meant I didn't have to think when I talked. it was a convo. Not scripted. & I had context to save me from stupid

This rings true. I dabble in sports writing and I've started to dabble in sports video. Not even two different sides of the same coin, but two different coins entirely. It's like, are you a point guard or are you a center. And, yeah, some point guards, like Mark Jackson or Andre Miller have post game, and some centers can handle the rock, but very few can do both. TV, streaming, YouTube, has made everyone think they need to do video, but if you're a dope writer, you should feel comfortable staying on that side. And, if you're an incredible podcaster or TV analyst, it's no need to start writing articles on Twitter. Just my .02...as I continue to try to learn both, if only to see which one I'm better at.

Hot take: Most sports journalists get worse at analysis when they stop writing and go full podcast/video mode. And it makes sense why. Writing forces you to slow down and organize your thoughts. Writing is where you pressure-test your ideas. Podcasts let you just… say stuff.

So much “breaking news” is such nonsense. Players have been off the roster for months and it’s common knowledge all this time a guy is transferring. Local beat guys reported it then. Yet certain outlets, not knowing or purposefully not crediting, send alerts 🤦🏾‍♂️

@JonesOnTheNBA Instead of the current in-season tournament, give the regulars two one-week vacations (in addition to all-star break) and use those weeks for a tournament with best G League players + little-used NBA players to compete for a tournament to fill the basketball void.

Wilder really can’t take anyone pressing him on this claim of cheating from Fury. Why? Because it’s total nonsense. The Nevada commission, arguably the best in the world, inspects all handwraps as did Wilder’s own team. He just can’t accept that he was beaten up. Sad.

Walter Clayton Jr. looks like a potential steal for the Jazz. Last night he handled Jrue Holiday’s full-court pressure and put up 8 points and 5 assists in 19 minutes. The 3s haven’t even fallen yet but they will. Love that he’s already playing an in-control brand of basketball.
