Fans and haters both give different motivations for why I smoke but agree it's totally justified.

@Barrington47875 @alphafox Yeah. The funny thing is how it became a game. We would wrestle and try to push each other in front of the basement stairs and yell "the ghost is going to eat you!" We were terrified but also irreverent about it. Boys just being boys.

Karen in HR swung by my office this morning Asked if I'm joining the Employee Engagement team-building session this afternoon I said "what is it" She said "an escape room" I said "what time" She said "5pm" On a Friday An escape room At 5pm On a Friday The irony of trapping employees in a room they have to solve their way out of at the exact hour they've been trying to escape all week was apparently lost on her I said "no" She said "it's mandatory" I said "so is reading the policy before enforcing it but here we are" She said "it's about building team culture" I said "I already spend 50 hours a week with these people. If we haven't built culture by now, a padlock and a flashlight aren't going to fix it." She said "your attitude is part of the problem" I said "my attitude built the Q2 forecast in two days. What has the escape room built." She didn't answer She left a flyer on my desk I used it as a coaster At 4:58 I packed my bag The analyst saw me leaving He said "you're not going?" I said "I have somewhere to be" He said "where" I said "home" He looked confused Like the concept of leaving at 5 on a Friday was something he'd only read about I said "you should try it sometime" Got in the car My wife called She said "are you coming home?" I said "I escaped" She said "from what" I said "the escape room" She said "you didn't go did you" I said "I didn't need to. I solved it from my office. The answer was the door." She laughed First time she's laughed at something I said in weeks I'm counting that Plz fix. Thx. Sent from my iPhone

There is a subtle yet serious danger in casually assuming or declaring of the dead, “They’re in heaven now,” without any qualification. Don’t fall into the error the protesters make. Here are three reasons why this presumption can harm souls (ours and theirs), according to Catholic teaching: 1️⃣It undermines the reality of Purgatory and our duty to pray for the dead. The Church teaches that many who die in God's grace still need purification before entering heaven's perfect holiness (CCC 1030–1032; Rev 21:27, "nothing unclean shall enter"). By assuming they're already there, we stop offering Masses, prayers, sacrifices, and indulgences for them, exactly what souls in Purgatory need most, since they can no longer help themselves. Some mystics even spoke of souls long forgotten, remaining in Purgatory because no one prayed for them. 2️⃣ It fosters presumption leading to Spiritual Sloth Presuming salvation (for ourselves or others) without evidence of heroic sanctity risks ignoring the gravity of sin and the particular judgment at death. Only the Church can canonize saints as definitively in heaven. For the rest of us, we simply don't know the state of a soul. Presumption can lull people into spiritual complacency: "If they're in heaven despite X, Y, Z, then I don't need to change much either." 3️⃣It can lead to a false universalism that downplays mortal sin and the possibility of damnation. When we proclaim "everyone goes straight to heaven" or treat every death as automatic glory, it quietly erodes the Church's warnings about dying in unrepented mortal sin (CCC 1035). It sends the message that serious sin has few eternal consequences, the very lie the enemy loves, as it discourages repentance and vigilance. We hope and pray they are with God, but true charity prays urgently for their purification and relief. Let's honor our departed by offering a Requiem prayer, a Mass intention, or a Rosary today. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen. ✝️ What are some ways you remember to pray for the faithful departed?

Christianity is failing because it has lost the ability to identify bad actors and exclude them. Thus the craziest people have taken over the churches.

most women who are sex workers, heavily tattooed, and/or who use excessive makeup/filters are just deeply insecure due to undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues. pretending the problem is external is easier than admitting something is wrong with them. But drivel appropriation aside. The sex work, the tattoos, the makeup/filter use (body dysmorphia), is orders of magnitude more emblematic, inculpatory, and evident of mental illness than anything the “red pill” supposedly is or espouses.
