We suggested to the CEO of my hospital to purchase biochem analyzer separate for ICU and NICU based on the findings we had analyzed from our mortality audit. The CEO agreed but he had to seek approval from board members.
To our surprise, the board rejected on basis extravagance.

Hospital boards exist in all hospitals and they are not involved on the daily running of the hospitals. They offer oversight and policy directions and just like in other counties, they even have boda boda guys and mama mboga folks in them as envisioned by the FIF act.
