Kenya will spend KSh 2.32 TRILLION on debt servicing. That is nearly half of the entire KSh 4.82 TRILLION budget. What does that mean for young people? ➡️It means the money that should build your future is already committed. ➡️It means fewer jobs, yet over 1 million young people enter the job market every year. ➡️It means youth unemployment remains high, with 67% of the unemployed being young people, yet it is still not a priority. ➡️It means less funding for education, innovation, and opportunity. ➡️ It means the people continue being overburdened, in a system that is not built for them. This is the result of bad leadership. The #UGMYoungAspirants Convention has resolved that something must be done to change this trajectory. We cannot afford to watch from the sidelines anymore. We must organise, step into leadership, and change these priorities. Because if we don’t organise now, we will inherit a country where our future has already been spent.
