Rep. Hamadeh is being manipulative. The point of the piece was those states have inordinately high shares of US Citizens that would have difficulty obtaining the type of documented proof of citizenship required to satisfy the SAVE Act. New Mexico has one of the highest shares of Native American populations, for example. They also tend to vote democratic at higher rates. In any case. your regular reminder that Hamadeh argued to admit ballots from voters who were already deemed ineligible to vote in his attempt to overturn his AG loss.

If you do not have a very specific list of documents (like military ID or passport), you must present your ID plus your birth certificate and your name on your ID must match the birth certificate. That's literally what the bill says.
