@jjfThompson The problem is that if the new government that suits you better involves keeping another people in a condition that doesn't suit them at all, like slavery, then you have violated their rights and have no right to "revolutionize."

“Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable, a most sacred right, a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can, may revolutionize, and make their own of so much of the territory as they inhabit. More than this, a majority of any portion of such people may revolutionize, putting down a minority, intermingled with, or near about them, who may oppose their movements.”  ~ Abraham Lincoln, January 12, 1848, on the House floor.

@realTuckFrumper It's astonishing that a brilliant actress, known for her portrayal of an iconic character of American literature, can't get work for no reason except her support of Trump.

Lee, against the good advice of his 2nd in command, attacked head on the obviously impregnable Union position at Gettysburg, thereby losing the battle and the war. For that reason alone he can't count as one of the best generals. twitter.com/BlueandWhite62…

@DurhamWASP Flash: In the end Nixon resigned in disgrace and was a failure. Demonizing the opposition doesn't work in democratic politics, not even in the pretty short term.

@VDAREJamesK Well folks here you have the illiberal right ideology summed up: The idea of America is a really awful idea. If you have any respect for this country at all you have to reject the illiberal right and the more mainstream political actors who enable them.

"She never received a single vote." Flash: Harris received nearly 100% of the votes of the delegates to the Democratic National Convention, most of whom were chosen by primary voters. So, yes, she received plenty of votes. twitter.com/realJeremyCarl…

@UBERSOY1 A good argument for ending the electoral college and going to a popular vote system for presidential elections.

If "there is no country" why vote for Trump or anyone? No one can be president of a country that doesn't exist. If you really believe what you say, stand down and give people who at least believe there is an America a crack at doing what they can to make the nation work. x.com/vdarejamesk/st…

@JackPosobiec Just a bus and people getting off. No indication they are Harris supporters. And if they are, what's the point? If they're not from Allentown they won't be able to vote when their registration is checked at the poll. No conspiracy and no proof.

@TheBabylonBee Yes, there were plenty of days deadlier than Jan. 6. But on no other day was there a effort to foil, by a violent attack on Congress, the peaceful transition of presidential power. That was no joke.

Flash: "The rights of the first-born" have never existed in the U.S. Such rights are primogeniture: the first born inherits everything. That is necessary only in aristocracies to preserve the family estate and title. But aristocracy is probably what Buchanan wished we had. x.com/durhamwasp/sta…

“What can be said for a man who would allow his home to be invaded by strangers who demanded they be fed, clothed, housed & granted the rights of the first-born? What can be said for a ruling elite that permits this to be done to the nation?” Pat Buchanan, born 2nd November 1938

Everyone has the right to challenge an election if they don't think it's fair. Then all you have to do is prove it. If, after 60+ court cases, many recounts, etc., you've got no proof, you have to concede. Every defeated presidential candidate in American history has done so except Trump. See you at the polls! x.com/jackposobiec/s…
