@MasterMaliq @H1dd3nH4nd Have you ever forgiven someone? For example you are a baker and someone who is hungry steals a bread? Who pays the price for forgiveness? Always the one doing the forgiving.

@H1dd3nH4nd And that is where our disagreement begins. I believe God can forgive because He is God, not because He became a man and died.

Christians say Jesus died for everyone's sins. I'm a Muslim. I don't believe Jesus is God. Did Jesus die for me too, or only for those who believe he is God?🤔

@P0eMPieDinges 8/8 Luxenberg’s Syro-Aramaic reading reveals the Quran’s deep roots in the shared Abrahamic tradition. It is not “alternative” — it is the historically and philologically superior understanding. Essential for serious study of scripture. Thoughts?

@P0eMPieDinges 7/8 Son’s consent + journey together + binding on the wood + divine intervention + ram as ransom. The early Quran arose in a Syriac/Aramaic Christian liturgical world. The Syro-Aramaic layer is the correct, coherent original — later Arabized with diacritics.

Kinderen kijken vaak mee.

@RealShahriqKhan Do you have any historical evidence that Mecca even existed before that time?

As an Ex-Muslim, this was a kill shot to my theology. One of the clearest examples of Muhammad contradicting himself: the Qibla change. When Muslims pray, they face Mecca. That wasn’t always the case. In early Islam (Medina, around 622–624), Muhammad told his followers to face Jerusalem when they prayed. Why? Because Jews were a strong community, and aligning with them gave him credibility as a potential prophet of the God of Abraham. But 1–2 years later, it suddenly flips. Now he says face Mecca. Surah 2:144 records it: “Indeed we see you O Prophet turning your face towards heaven. Now we will make you turn towards a direction of prayer that will please you… turn your face towards the sacred mosque of the Kaaba.” That’s not revelation, that’s a shift. The Jews rejected him, and now the direction changes. Think about it: •Jews never faced Mecca. •Christians never faced Mecca. •Genesis 17–21 shows Abraham and Ishmael never went to Mecca. •The Torah never predicted a divine GPS update. So this isn’t prophecy, it’s politics. Muhammad needed to separate from Jewish identity, consolidate authority, and center Islam on Mecca (the Kaaba), which had been a pagan pilgrimage site filled with idols. This marks the shift from peaceful to more aggressive Quranic passages. So yes, Muslims today pray toward Mecca. But the Qibla change exposes a deeper issue: Not divine consistency, but human maneuvering. Because the God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever doesn’t change direction like that. He comes to dwell within, through Christ, and through the Holy Spirit guiding us in truth.

The original claim was "The NT manuscripts are so late that many of the NT documents could have evolved and been edited and changed between their original composition date and manuscript date". In fact, some papyri fragments date to less than 50-100 years after composition. But 8th century in this context could mean later (750 => 100 years). I think responding to the Quran dating claims without addressing the counter claims of the NT is misleading. It also involves when scholars date the composition vs when adherents date the composition (ie composed during Muhammad's lifetime means dating to ~600-630 so within 100 years requires before ~700-730 and within 50 years before ~650-680)

The NT manuscripts are so late that many of the NT documents could have evolved and been edited and changed between their original composition date and manuscript date. Second most NT books acquire scriptural status long after they were first composed including the four gospels - thus allowing for these books to be changed while they aren’t seen as canon scripture. The Uthmanic Quran dates to just 20 years after the prophet’s death and we have the entire Quran preserved in 1st century manuscripts. There is no comparison here because the Qur’anic text is just way better attested that the New Testament. I’m shocked you’d try to make such a comparison - it’s completely misleading.
SwissApologetics@Ron_M_Swiss

The New Testament was written by multiple authors in different places. No one ever had control over the entire text. Therefore nobody could systematically change the New Testament. That makes its preservation a historical fact. On the other hand, even basic preservation of the Quran cannot be historically proven. Uthman burned all variant manuscripts ~20 years after Muhammad. We simply don’t know what was changed in the early years.

@PhDniX @BahaddouAhmed @KhalilAndani @Lasermazer Modern scholars (Michele Amari, William de Slane, and François Déroche) consider this attribution spurious—a later addition. Reasons include:The script and ink of the note appear more recent (possibly 16th–17th century). The formula in the note has Shiite connotations.

@BahaddouAhmed @ThomasNeve @KhalilAndani @Lasermazer Correct. I think the fact that what is felt to be a "Shiite formula" is being applied to an Abbasid ruler is incongruous enough that it actually speaks to it being archaic. But ultimately, we are arguing over decades not whether it is 16th century like one interlocutor sugested.

As a Non Muslim, If you honestly believe Prophet Muhammad is a false prophet... Then tell me RIGHT NOW: What does a TRUE Prophet look like? What signs, life, miracles, or message would make you say, “Yes… THIS is the real deal from God”? Let’s see if your “true prophet” standard even exists… or if it’s just an excuse.
