Both the RSF and SAF spreading their war into Chad 🇹🇩 will spell absolute disaster for the people of Sudan 🇸🇩. So far the Chadian government has been willing to allow refugees to enter and for humanitarian aid to cross back, if that ends it will be a catastrophe for millions.

A cross-border drone attack from Sudan killed 17 people in Chad including mourners attending a funeral service, the Chadian government and local sources said on Thursday, and the country's president vowed to retaliate for any further attacks. reuters.com/world/africa/d…

#Belarus Several sources confirm the release of Kaciaryna Andreeva - a talented, young, brilliant journalist arrested in November 2020 while covering protests. Kacia is my friend, and every day has been so unfair and heartbreaking. Her husband, Ihar, has also been arrested.

For months Orban has basically been begging Trump to show up in Budapest for a handshake and endorsement to give Fidesz a boost in the Hungarian elections. Don't know if the same will work with Vance though
Hümeyra Pamuk@humeyra_pamuk

SCOOP: Vice President JD Vance is planning to visit Hungary in the coming days in a show of support for the country's long-time nationalist prime minister Viktor Orban, who is facing a difficult election next month, sources familiar ‌with the planning tell me & @JonathanLanday

9/ For many, this isn’t about the right to drink. It’s about the right to not be subjected to state-imposed sorting, tutelage, and discipline in the name of someone else’s vision for the country’s future, especially if this “someone” is operating in the shadows.

Just to illustrate; when visiting a festivity in Wallonia last summer PM De Wever refused to say "long live Belgium" commenting he "would not make a fool of himself" and asking others to "respect his political convictions" *which are the breakup of the country he's currently governing*

Not a smart move for a city trying to attract more tourists and expats in its post-war era. Don't get me wrong, its not like tourists (westerners in particular) need to drink wherever they go, but they simply don't like places which outright ban such things.

Damascus Governorate announces that it has banned alcoholic drinks in all shops and restaurants in the city, with the exception of licensed sellers in a couple Christian-inhabited neighborhoods
