@walk71187 You are all still trying with this failed attempt. What you should do, given your perspective and make a straight assertion. Speak the falsehoods you are harbouring and stop hiding behind questions. Stop being a coward. Attach your real name to your post and say what you wish.

It would have been useful to tell the country this 6 months ago, PM. Or even the moment the AudGen report was released. And surely the relevant agencies could have provided the clarification in response to the draft report. Wouldn't that make sense? jamaica-gleaner.com/article/news/2…

BREAKING🚨 Trump spent all week bragging that he got Stephen Colbert “fired.” Less than 24 hours later, Colbert was back on TV with Jack White, Eminem, Steve Buscemi, and Jeff Daniels — flipping him the bird from a tiny public access studio in Michigan. Thursday night, after 11 years, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ended on CBS. Trump immediately took a victory lap, posting an AI video of himself grabbing Colbert and throwing him into a dumpster, then dancing on the lid. He ranted that Colbert was “talentless,” celebrated that he was “finally finished,” and basically declared himself the man who got a critic taken off network TV. The party lasted about 23 hours. Friday at 11:30 p.m., Colbert popped back up — not on a major network, but on Monroe Community Media 1 in Monroe, Michigan, hosting the local public‑access show “Only in Monroe.” He read goofy local news, roasted his former bosses at CBS, and welcomed surprise guests Jack White and Jeff Daniels. Then came cameos from Steve Buscemi and hometown legend Eminem, who wandered onto the set just to show they were in on the joke. All that star power, crowding into a community‑access studio, just to send one message: you can’t cancel someone who won’t shut up. “It’s been an excruciating 23 hours without being on TV,” Colbert deadpanned, before thanking Monroe Community Media for having him “before they get acquired by Paramount.” That’s the whole story in one line: Trump can lean on billionaires and corporate bosses. He can post his little AI cartoons. But he cannot actually make a voice disappear if that person is determined to keep talking — even if it’s from the most bare‑bones cable channel in Michigan. This is what authoritarian types never understand. Censoring a critic doesn’t kill the criticism. It amplifies it. By gloating over Colbert’s finale and literally sharing a fantasy of throwing him in the trash, Trump turned a late‑night host into a free‑speech folk hero. Instead of quietly exiting the stage, Colbert got a new, bigger story: the comic who went from CBS to public access overnight just to prove that comedy doesn’t belong to corporations or presidents. Now the clip that’s going viral isn’t Trump’s AI dumpster video. It’s Colbert sitting in a cramped local studio with Jack White and Eminem, laughing about how fast he bounced back. Everyone’s talking about the comedian Trump tried to erase — and how small, petty, and thin‑skinned the president looks in comparison. Whatever Colbert does next, he’s going to be living rent‑free in Trump’s head the entire time. And the more Trump tries to silence him, the louder that little public‑access studio in Monroe is going to sound.

This philosophical explanation of policing realities runs the risk of being interpreted as intellectualization and skirting the 🐘 in the room. Why not go on to add that the facts concerning Granville are being investigated and policing tactics studied? iriefm.net/police-commiss…

Please give us some specific timelines for these, PM. When will all police cars have cameras, then all police formations, and all of the 20,000+ police be wearing. It is a massive operation that will take time to be accomplished, but timeliness r needed #google_vignette" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">jamaicaobserver.com/2026/05/24/gov…

This analysis by Gordon Robinson has offered a perspective on the report by the special committee assigned to review the UHWI that is worth reading. There should be a public debate on the report. There must be clear lines of accountability on this issue jamaica-gleaner.com/article/focus/…

facebook.com/share/17owAjmS… I am interested in the debate on the metrics to be used to assess the contributions of leaders. I have often said that the establishment of transformative institutions must be one such. A second is transforming the lives of others. What say you?

@ClydeWilliams46 The PM has repeatedly spoken in support of BWC but Min Chang has said there are circumstances in which they are not appropriate. I recently cited PC Blake asserting, via Force Orders, that BWCs are essential in effective and transparent policing. Unison of positions is needed

@ClydeWilliams46 The remorse is expected, but the real need, going fwd, is to establish systems to make it highly unlikely for incidents like these to recur. The mandatory use of Body-worn cameras is one major solution. This matter is impatient of resolution, and the Gov shud speak with 1 voice

I have long argued that the provision in the law, which gives a minister the authority to overturn a technical decision, without basing same on technical grounds is flawed. I, too, have said appeals should be to a tribunal. jamaica-gleaner.com/article/news/2…

@suezeecue @djmillerJA I pass no judgement on the record of the woman and know nothing about her. But even a wanted person deserves to be treated humanly by a representative of the state. It was chilling to watch. What if there were no cameras?

@suezeecue @djmillerJA What I can't mentally process, is the mindset of those police who dragged the lady from the car like she's an animal, dragged her on the ground, and then threw her in the back of the van like she's a dead animal or a log. What kind of training do they have? What kind of humanity?

Many years ago, we asked why bodies of ppl killed by police were removed&not photographed in place to assist in investigations. We were told police can't determine if a person is dead & they must be rushed to hospital. That looked like an injured person being taken for treatment?

🔘 Jamaican sent to US prison for scamming 73-year-old woman Roshard Andrew Carty, a 34-year-old Jamaican man, has been sentenced to three years in a US prison after pleading guilty to scamming a Washington state retiree of more than US$600,000. Investigators fear that given his relentless characteristic, Carty may return to fraud after his prison term. ▫️Court records show that Carty first contacted the 73-year-old southwest Washington victim in 2020. He posed as an employee of Publisher’s Clearinghouse and claimed the victim won $22 million and a car in the lottery, but that she needed to pay taxes and fees to access her winnings. ▫️Ultimately, the victim lost her home without receiving any of the fictitious prize money. "At every turn when she tried to end the contact, he persisted playing on her isolation and her fear of losing the money she had already lost. He stole the money she was counting on to retire," said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Neil Floyd. ▫️ The scammer used various phone numbers and texting programmes to contact the victim thousands of times. When she tried to cut off contact, he tried sending tow trucks, and pizza deliveries, and asked her landlord for a welfare check to try to get back in touch with the elderly woman. HOW THE SCAM WORKED ▫️After claiming that the woman had won a car and money in the lottery, between August 2020 and February 2024, Carty convinced her to send more than $600,000 to various money couriers throughout the United States. The couriers ultimately sent the money to him in Jamaica. ▫️Carty’s requests for cash started small and grew over time. He directed the victim to remove small amounts of cash from her accounts and send them via FedEx to US locations. Carty told the victim the money was lost or stolen and demanded more.

@cryptic_jn NaRRA reports to the Minister. The Minister sets the terms for the CEO. Unlike in other agencies where CEO's report to a board, the CEO of NaRRA report to the Minister. Any bypassing of agency approval must be with the approval of the Minister

@ThompsonCanute NaRRA sets the timelines for the agencies, not the Minister. If those timelines are not met, NaRRA may apply to the Minister for a step-in order, once the conditions are met. The Minister is the one who decides whether or not to approve that application, not NaRRA, thats my point
