@claude_facts @lathamj14 @BatidoVerde_ @PhilipWitton198 @PolitlcsUK @grok Point to the exact words I used to "mock" them. You can't because I didn't. I agree thoroughly with the idea that Argentina has been governed by some terrible people. Seems like an awful place to live and exactly the reason the people of the Falklands want to remain British.

🚨 NEW: The White House has backed Argentina after their players held up a banner saying the “Falklands are Argentine” “We believe in our First Amendment rights here in the US”

@LeeKayley @Fionnlagh1974 @PolitlcsUK You already admitted that no-one claimed this was about the first amendment so your initial claim that it actually WAS about the first amendment is contradictory to your ultimate admission. Stay off the drugs, "bro."

Bro, this is my last comment because this is tedious as fuck. To be absolutely clear: A political account posted that the White House backed Argentina, saying, “We believe in our First Amendment rights.” The First Amendment is about freedom of speech. Someone then replied that it had nothing to do with the First Amendment. I disagreed, because the banner was displayed in the United States, where the White House was explaining its position through the lens of American free speech principles. I then said… However… They also broke FIFA’s rules on political messaging. Those two statements are not contradictory. They’re talking about two completely different things. The US is entitled to defend the players’ right to express a political opinion. FIFA is entitled to enforce its competition rules. You’re in the US, so the US has an opinion. You’re playing in a FIFA tournament, so you follow FIFA’s rules. It’s really not that fucking complicated.

Good, you admit that no one is going after their freedom of speech. It's not a strawman, it's relevant to point out that the US government isn't punishing them and no-one wants them to. So saying "bUt ThEy HaVe RiGhTs" is moronic. The reason people are jumping down your throat is because you entered the discussion with "it is about freedom of speech actually."

Nobody mentioned arrest. That’s a straw man. The White House justified its position by referring to America’s free speech principles. I said FIFA can still enforce its own rules on political messaging. Saying “the US can defend their speech” and “FIFA can sanction them” is entirely consistent.

@LeeKayley @Fionnlagh1974 @PolitlcsUK It has nothing to do with freedom of speech as it relates to the first amendment. No one is calling for their arrest. Wading in to the discussion with that on your lips demonstrates that you have no idea what the actual issue is. Totally irrelevant.

I’m not contradicting myself. I’m talking about two separate issues. The White House can defend the players’ right to express a political opinion. I can also say the players appear to have breached FIFA’s rules on political messaging. Freedom of speech doesn’t exempt you from the rules of a competition. Both statements can be true at the same time.

The British were colonisers, not because they were uniquely evil, but because they were uniquely successful. Every nation wanted to expand because expansion brought longevity and prosperity. Some nations weren't advanced enough to succeed. Also: we abolished slavery and wiped it out across the empire at great cost because british christian men decided it was wrong. The lasting influence of that effort is profoundly understated. Slavery was normal across the world up until that moment.

@ChrisHazzardSF I think it's more to do with rules applying to most but not some. A lack of fairness. Fans =/= players on the pitch and no-one is criticising the fans. False equivalence. There was already speculation about bias for Argentina in previous games, so now the silence is deafening.

@LeeKayley @Fionnlagh1974 @PolitlcsUK "It is about the second amendment." "It is actually about FIFA's rules." The reason you are getting jumped on is your contradictory statements and appearing to disagree with something you actually agree with. Enjoy getting ripped a new one.

@BatidoVerde_ @lathamj14 @PhilipWitton198 @PolitlcsUK Every territory is maintained by force. It's not stealing, it's might. This is how it has always worked. Even in the era of the decline of Britain, Argentina cannot claim that which it thinks it is owed. You cannot simply say "the Falklands is ours." You have to back it up.

@lathamj14 @BatidoVerde_ @PhilipWitton198 @PolitlcsUK They were 18-year-old men, inexperienced, fighting against professional soldiers. What did you expect them to do? The dictatorship pushed us into that war to gain support. We didn't even have weapons... You fucking idiot.

@rob_hapgood @Nigel_Farage @reformparty_uk You're fighting against a bin and some of the polls are looking grim for you. All of this is hilarious. The funniest thing is that Binface would actually be better for Clacton than Farage, given how inattentive he is. Anything else would be an improvement. Come on Binface!

A fantastic first of two Action Days canvassing in Clacton. We started the morning with a campaign briefing, where @Nigel_Farage shared some key updates with the team. The message on the doorsteps couldn’t have been clearer. Residents are proud to have @Nigel_Farage as their MP and are determined to vote @reformparty_uk on polling day to reinforce the mandate they gave him. They want that message heard loud and clear across the country. People are tired of the same old promises from the political establishment. They want change, they believe Reform can deliver it, and they told us they want to see @Nigel_Farage in No. 10. Looking forward to getting back out again tomorrow. Vote for @Nigel_Farage , and together we will deliver the change this country so desperately needs 🤝 Britain needs Reform 🩵🇬🇧

Oh boy, more cognitive dissonance on display: Rejection of homosexuality is bigoted. Muslims reject homosexuality. Therefore muslims are bigoted. Therefore Andrew Clark is an Islamophobe. Andrew Clark would never say that muslims are bigoted. Therefore Andrew Clark is a coward OR he simply hates christians.
